Lifestyle Vs Camel Camper Trailer
« on: March 07, 2015, 11:23:28 AM »
Hi there fellow My Swag campers,

We are looking at purchasing our first camper trailer this weekend at our local caravan and camping show on the gold coast.  We have done a lot of research and narrowed it down to Lifestyle southern cross or Extenda & Camel Beachcomber Plus.  Just wondering if theres anybody out there that has positives and negatives for both.  We are very excited about our purchase but don't want to make the wrong decision as its a lot of money for us. I believe the best advice is always from campers out there already using these campers rather than the sales teams.  I have been stalking this forum for a few months now and thought it was time to ask the people in the know   :D Thanks for taking the time to read this and i look forward to all comments that follow.  Have a great weekend

P.s What would you recommend we upgrade on our trailer??

Hi mate, we have a lifestyle Extenda, which we used with out two children. We have had it since 2010, and love it to bits. Lifestyle have a great after sales service and nothing is a hassle. The product is very good. A few minor issues, but nothing that wasn't fixed. I cant comment on the Camel. Either way, you'll enjoy getting out there and having a great camp. ;)

I have the extenda, the reason we went lifestyle was the bigger tent. 10 ft x 10ft, to fit the 3 kids in.  With the Camel would of needed to go to he 12 ft tent.  My two Brothers have camel campers, and love them,

As Frostd said, great after sales service, I forgot to tie it down properly when drying and bucked done poles, replaced and installed FOC. I did have some other work done at the time.

Either should see you well set up

we ended with the Lifestyle 360 , we were tossing up between Camel and Lifestyle . The only thing that made us go to Lifestyle was actually seeing one in the flesh up here .( At the time it was hard to see any brand of camper trailer in North QLD).
When speaking to Camel about their campers , all questions were answered and was happy with their response. They were more than happy to help out in any way.
Have had little to do with after sales service from Lifestyle, as nothing has gone wrong , and times when I have contacted them about things I have had a positive response.
I don't think you would go wrong with one or the other.
Both well made, you would be happy with the one you purchase.
Cheers Stephen.
