Yea weber accessories are pretty expensive.the only one I'd realy recommend is the triangle wire brush...good bit of gear

I bought a new Baby Q1200 a few weeks ago, took it camping the next day. Must say it lived up to the hype, love it. Spent a stupid amount of cash on some extras (half hot plate, duffle bag, folding tables, roast trivet, cleaning brush), it all adds up, but it's been incredible. Found a need youtube channel "carolines cooking in oz" i think it's called. Worth a look, all Weber Q stuff

Went and picked up a Weber Baby Q (high dome) today and it fits perfectly in the front boot of the 2014 Jayco Eagle. Will try it out when we go up to Kurrimine Beach in a couple of weeks, providing the weather gods play nice.

Mates got one of those Sovereign's on his Whittley.  Great unit in a marine environment, but I can't see $1000 in it.  and X3 on the stainless hotplates.

For under $300 it's hard to go past a baby Q.

l can do you a Swaggers price on a PDFP ( Per Dug Fire Pit )  always handy to have on hand as a quick BBQ spot .

Didn't realise there were a few models.  Mate would have the marine version, which is close to $1000.

yeah the marine is pretty fancy, but the RV ones are actually pretty good. I've got a Pork Lion Roast on right now with vegies for 4...

They are certainly more expensive but i've cooked in mine now i reckon at least 500+ times it would get used probably about 8-10 times a week with me being on the road. Although about black inside (it still cleans well as it got a clean today), its still kicking along as if the day i brought it..

And i have to admit i love cooking on a stainless hot plate instead of teflon coated..

I paid 500 for mine brand new.. So there is a difference.. Since then i have replaced the cook plate once..

Well we have a Baby Q that is mounted on a slide that comes out of the camper.
After getting used to not lifting the lid to look all the time, we found that it is great for cooking all the meals from Brekkie to Roasts, steaks, bread, etc.
Just on Saturday when we were supposed to be camping (cancelled because of the Rain!!) we went to Brisbane to our canvas man(another add on) and then stupidly went for a look around some camping shops and came away with lots of extra bits and pieces. One of the items was a replacement high lid for the Q.
Got home and put if together and next minute my wife comes out of the house with scones to cook. Then it was mini Quiches, now lunches this week will be Ok !!!
She was rapt with the thermometer which really was all the older model was missing.
Now can't wait to get camping and cook a roast knowing roughly what temp I am cooking at.(still will use the remote Thermo for the meat temp)

I had this conversation with a couple of mates yesterday...

We have a Coleman Roadtrip LXE which we bought in about 2008, it was on special and the price was unbelievable.
It's a great barbecue and it's seen some pretty heavy use and still looks as good as the day I bought it home. Enameled plates and a Ferarri red lid.
The dual fuel capability is nice too. We chuck it in the back of the ute and take it to the park, beach etc. It's easily carted around.

Having said all that if I was looking now I would go for the Webber. Everyone I know who has a Webber says the same thing - we use it all the time, even at home.
The Coleman is pretty big when folded down in the bag and the lid is not high enough for a proper roast.

I really wish the old Coleman would breakdown or something so I could justify the purchase of a Webber but in my experience Coleman stuff lasts forever so I'm stuck with it.
First world problem?

I have a Weber Q 200 for general duties but went with the baby Ziggler & Brown for camp duties and absolutely love it, same sort of $ as the Weber but more features, the grill plate locks in place and the lid will pivot right back under if required or you can swap out the grill and put a trivet in and it becomes a stove.
