While I was out yesterday, I pulled up beside what was effectively a semi- size cement truck, with a long drum, at least twice, & maybe 3 times as long as on a normal truck.

Didn't know they even existed, as I've never seen one before ???

Thought I would have had it on dash-cam but I was out for a while so the card overwrote itself :-[

Is anyone surprised by this?

The receipt showed he had put more petrol in the tank than was physically possible.

"Given that it had eight litres in it, and it only holds 150. That's an overfill or an over supply of fuel of 15 litres," Mr Johnson explained.

He conducted his own testing, taking a jerry can to the service station, where he filled up 10 litres of fuel but was charged for more than 12.

back in the days of working in servos, the weights and measures blokes would rock up pretty often.

If it was in the the customers favour, they would just tell you to get a pump mechanic guy out to fix it.

If it was in the servos favour, they would lock the bowser on the spot.

No idea what they do these days.

works both ways 22 yrs in a servo, balances were out & I rang the distributor to tell them. Don't worry I was told if its out we'll pick it up. OK leave it with you. About 2-3 weeks later weights & measure roll up, Pump is giving out 107 litres for every 100. couldn't get Gibarco there quick enough to recalibrate the pump. This was Dist and used to get 3 deliveries a week. They allow a margin for error which bought it back to 105 litres for every 100. If it was over 105 the distributor would have had to pay the Gov. the lost excise,GST etc, don't know how they calculate how for back that would go. Had a local truck driver complaining about his economy afterwards & told him I knew exactly why his milage was out.

Thats why i always fill up the sub tank first on the patrol. If it reads close to 30 litres, i know the pump is calibrated right.

Grapes are meant to be snacked on as you wander around the shop picking up the other groceries.
The fruit with barcodes is the stuff you're supposed to take home and share with the kids
