Not taking a salary is a small token of goodwill....why wouldn't you when you are worth over 2 billion.
Why would you take a salary when your family business is profiting so much from all of this new "official business"....?
Political groups spent more than $1.2 million at Trump properties during the president’s first year in office. Prior to President Trump’s 2016 campaign, annual spending by political committees at Trump properties had never exceeded $100,000 in any given year going back to at least 2002.
In the first year Trump spent 121 days (1/3rd of his whole first term) staying at his own properties. Obviously that's not Trump on his own, the whole entourage following/protecting him has to fork out for accommodation.
His businesses also profited from 200 visits by executive branch officials, 47 visits by Members of congress and 23 visits by state officials. In just the first year.
Pentagon officials spent half of a president's salary on just one official trip to Trump's own Scottish golf course.
Add to that all of the Mar-a-largo trips and other golf trips with various diplomats all in Trump owned properties.
The slimy son in law has raked in over $90M on his own since daddy-o took office.
There's new Trump developments recently opened/opening soon in the Philippines, Uruguay, Dominican Republic, Indonesia and India.
And I hear that Trump tower is Moscow is going to great, actually they say it will the best hotel ever, in the history of all hotels, ever....
So yeah, who would want to lower themselves to take a pissy little president's salary.....
As for the rest of the list of "achievements", have a quick look at any graph from 2009 to 2019 with areas in that list of successes and the trends are very clear.
I think there's an expression for it, it has something about riding on the coat tails of others.....
