For those people that asked me for my Cape York itinerary. I haven't forgotten.

I just realised it's on my old computer and I will get it this weekend.

So for those that wanted it could you please remind me who you were again

I thought I would let everyone know that I still haven't forgotten about all of you.

It's just at the moment our computer has managed to get a virus and it won't allow me to get into the internet. Therefor I can't send everyone the itinerary. I do apologise for the inconvenience

It's annoying the crap out of me mate.

I'm resorting back to using the phone and logging on from that but I need to check emails and send everyone the itinerary but can't until the computer is up and running

How long are you planning on being up there. Or are you just anal  with the itinerary

Don't have a condensed version you could post?

Moggy,

Just letting you know there is no short version. This isn't like any other itinerary as this 1 gives detailed information on fuel stops, history, things to look for, safety awareness and other things.

Mate I admire the effort. If you're happy to share I'd be interested in having s look.
I showed my swmbo the video that mcgirr posted the other day & she has given permission for me to go without her, (she's a bit precious my bride ) so I'm keen to plan for next year & perhaps join up/ tag along with some other swaggers.
my mail is moggy@smartseal.com.au .

We are a possibility if we can get a few mods done to the Pathy before then.

The dream - to travel like a snail with my home behind me, seeing every inch of Australia.

At this stage we will be there.

P.S. I am still waiting to get the computer fixed so I can email everyone this itinerary. I could post it but would cost far too much to get 10 copies printed off at 52 pages for each itinerary

Hi All,

I’m in the planning stage for my 2015 Cape Trip; most days will be unpowered bush /camp ground camping with the exception of Seisia.

Any one is welcome to join us at any stage or simply join us at Archer Creek on the 11th June It’s not a catered affair so everyone is expected to chip in and help out. You will need to be self-sufficient and carter for your own needs.

I’m travelling with a well setup Mazda BT-50 with no camper, rest assured I’m no cowboy; my preference is to arrive at the final destination (home) safe and well.

This will be my fifth trip to the Cape, two of them with McGirr 2014 and 2012, two self-guided and one other riding along as passenger

Dates:       Planned departure Wednesday 11th June 2015 to Monday 21nd June. Leaving Townsville 10 days before the Qld School holidays. This should allow us enough time to stay in front of the crowds. Roads should be in good condition, the camping and swimming areas should be free from large numbers

Rough Itinerary (subject to change)

Wed 10th     Townsville to Laura via Palmerstone Highway and inland route

Thu 11th    Laura to Archer River Roadhouse.

Fri 12th       Archer River Roadhouse to Bramwell Junction then onto the Dulhunty River.

Today we tackle the start of the OTL after departing Bramwell Junction, We will look at Palm Creek crossing our first major crossing we may cross it or take the bypass road via the Heathland Ranger Station and back track down to the camp area on the Dulhunty River

Sat 13th    Dulhunty River. Enjoy a day relaxing in the clear waters of the Dulhunty River.

Sun 14th   Dulhunty River to Eliot Falls.

Mon 15th    Relax, swim in the crystal clear waters of Elliot falls and explore the surrounding area.

Tue 16th    Eliot Falls to Jardine River via the Northern OTL we will bypass Nolan’s Brook and exit the OTL just before Mistake Creek. We cross the Jardine river by barge than continue on to Seisia, set up camp at van park (power, hot showers and laundry available)  At Seisia we can explore the area , fish and watch the stunning sunsets over the Gulf.

Wed 17th    Day trip to the “Tip of Cape York” then onto Summerset for a look see

Thu 18th    Day trip to Thursday Island / Horn Island or just relax at the camp site

Fri 19th      Head back south towards Home stopping at Musgrave station.

Sat 20th    Musgrave Station via Lakefield National Park and on to the Loins den camp overnight

I will revise the Lakefield journey when arriving at Musgrave. If the park is closed we will drive on down to Lakeland downs then take to inland road back towards Cooktown

Sun 21st    Loins den to Townsville via the Bloomfield track, arrive back in Townsville late Sunday evening

Mon 22nd    Unpack and clean-up
Chaos, Panic, Disorder - My work is done here.
