We started off with a Q220 because I was worried about the Q100 being a bit small for a family of 4.

I recently purchased the Q100 for the camper and for day trips down the beach. Had no issues cooking for 4 on it. It's compact size is nice and we have cooked pizzas , roasts etc with no issues.
I was almost going to get the high lid model, but went for the option that takes the least space.
Couldn't be happier with the Q100.

The Q220 is now our main BBQ at home. The $3000 Heatlie sits in the corner collecting dust.

I have a Q220 at home for 3 of us and it does the job fine. Retired the old 4 burner and never looked back.
We take a mates Q100 when we go camping and it and can cook for 4 adults.
I'd recommend the one with the temp gauge so you can cook like an oven.

They're the ones with the '20' like Q220 (temp gauge and high lid) vs Q200 ( no temp gauge and low lid) difference is about $30

Not sure if there is a Q120

The Baby Q 100e has the temp gauge, it is the high lid model. I have the Baby Q 100 for me and the missus and it is more than adequate for two people and as said above it doesn't take up to much room .

We have a 220 at home, got rid of the huge beef eater 5 burner..... Saves space, we would certainly buy a 100e (with the higher lid and temp gauge like the 220) if we wanted to take one camping...we have heaps of cooking gear already so trying to avoid buying another to take camping....

Baby Q 100e with  temp gauge for us, compact size and big capacity.
$269 great price. Yes had to do a lot of shopping around to even find one. Price was worth the wait and extra effort though.

We used the 100 for the first time a couple of weeks back and was very surprised on how well it went.
We have Brekkie each day Steak one nite and a pork roast another. All came out really well.
Ended up with sore hand as I got a wack every time I wanted to see how it was going, not used to closing the lid and opening when done.!!
Will get better as I get used to it.
But the 100 suited the two of us fine.

We have both.  100 would do it but the 200 is much much bigger so for roasts etc its the go.

I just bought an almost identical to Weber's  thermometer from evilbay for the extravagant sum of $3 posted from HK.  Drill a hole in the side of the lid, attach with the supplied wingnut and voila!

We have the 100e and it does the family of five (though 4/5 are girls and don't eat so much).
If you have the room and will use it at home then the 220 would be better for the bigger get togethers.

In our Baby Q, I cooked a pork roast at Christmas time that feed 12 adults. This was meat only, no veg. On the other hand it is too small for bacon and eggs, fried tomatoes, fried mushrooms to feed 2 adults and a child.
Get the high lid model if you have room.
Get an electronic programable meat thermometer from Bunnies. Turn the BBQ on, stab the meat, drink beer, it will beep when your pork is medium/well or when your beef is medium/rare.
We bought ours to put in the ct for camping but it has ended up being our main BBQ at home. The 6 burner, hooded, stainless trolley with cabinet, blah, blah, blah, now only gets used for a brekkie cook up at home.
We've had ours for about 18 months now and I can't remember how much we paid which tells me it was worth it. I always remember prices when I'm not happy with the product. If I didn't know how much they are now but knew how good they are and how much we use it, I'd happily pay a thousand for it, they really are that good.
Yep, and as above, get the stand.

And most important, invite us round for a feed.
Cheers,
Paul

We have the Q200. I ordered the Q100 through frequent flyers but they sent me the wrong one.
It now double's as a home BBQ and fits in the camper for holidays. It is also great to chuck in the bavk of the car for a picnic.

roasts, lobster, steak, pretty much cooked everything on it. if you have the space get the 200 if not the 100 would be sweet. they are a good little size.

Looks like the new weber 100 (1000) will have the ability to also use disposable cylinders....
And they now have
Porcelain-enamelled cast iron cooking grates
And they now have
Split grill so you can have half grill half hotplate

Might be worth waiting for the new model.

As Sami said above, fit a temp gauge yourself.

You can go to Bunnings and get a gauge for about $10 bux, then drill a hole centre to slightly high in the lid front of your Q100 and screw it in.

I got the impression that if you buy through the actual Weber stores that the high lid models with the temp gauge are only about $20ish more than the std model.

But, if you buy from on sellers they only stock the base models but are much cheaper.

Anyone else found that?

BTW - You will love em!

Yeah ..... The  stores that sell the high lid models sell them at an rrp, and won't budge  on price.

I had to pay top dollar for our Q220, I think they ended up giving me $5 off the price of the grill after me nagging about the price.

I got the Q100 from Masters, one weekend when they were having a weber sale + another 5% with my tradie card for $230 plus a pack of 5 drip trays thrown in as well.

The new gas canister option would be great for day trips, not having to lug the big bottle around.

Is there any dramas caused by drilling and putting the thermometer in.

I assume not just making sure before I do it to my 200.
