Locking Kids in cars!!
« on: January 16, 2014, 08:21:47 AM »
On the radio this morning they were saying that there were 19 cases involving kids locked in cars in Victoria in the last few days ???
I cannot believe people would even think of it ??? in this weather or any weather.

In the extreme heat down south, they should simply take the kids away from the parents. They don't deserve them  !

Couldn't agree more..
It's 40+ outside, it would take about 5mins to hit 70 inside the car.. how long is a <2yr old going to last in that heat... Sadly most of them see to be *new* Australians

You lot have never travelled long distances with kids in cars.
Of course you lock them in and do not ever i mean ever feed them. This keeps them weak and they cannot fight with each other on the 4 hour drive to Dubbo

In fairness, some of those cases were accidental.

My partner did it years ago to our then 3 week old daughter, thankfully in the middle of winter.  Keys fell out of her handbag as she got out of the car, locked her door (no central locking) and then went to the backdoor to discover it was locked.  She called me in a panic and I said just smash a window, but she was asleep and it wasn't hot or cold.  I drove 30 minutes to her with a key to find the car surrounded by 10 people with my distressed partner and bubs sound asleep none the wiser.

My sister is close friends with the wife of a former AFL player.  She was 38 odd weeks pregnant and out shopping with her 2 year old.  Felt a few labour cramps and figured it was time to get out of the shops.  Sat 2 year old in back seat and went to put the shopping in the boot, 2 year had the keys with the remote didn't he... Guess what happened next?
Thankfully a cop car drove past and noticed she was distressed, got the kid out of the car and call an ambo.

As for the intentional ones.  Maybe a flogging with a bike chain perhaps?

No excuse for locking your kids in the car intentionally when the weather is hot.  We live in the country & I must admit that I will leave the kids in the car while I duck into the supermarket to get milk & bread  but only if the weather is cool.

Unfortunately things like this also happen accidently.  I know once years ago when we were holidaying with friends, after fishing for the day at a nearby town we arrived back at camp, all the kids piled out of the 2 cars to go & do their own thing but we hadn't realised that our son (7 at the time) had fallen asleep, we thought he had got out with the rest of them.  Wasn't until we were preparing dinner an hour later when we heard a funny noise coming from the car & realised what had happened.  Our poor son was absolutely hysterical when he woke up & discovered he was locked in the car.  We were very lucky that it wasn't a warm day & I don't think I will ever make that same mistake again.

My Mrs works at the Buderim Hospital.
Yesterday some bogan couple arrive for an appointment and locked their dog in the car whilst they had an appointment with a Dr that ended up taking a long time.

Mrs saw them arrive and told them how long it would take and said they could tie the dog up at the front door, covered by an awning and she would get it some water.

Guy told her no way and that someone would steal it. Anyway half an hour later someone comes in and complains about the dog being in a hot locked car. Mrs calls firies and they come out and smash the window and let the dog out..................................She got a mouthfull from the guy until one of the firies ripped him a new one.

What a f^cktard.

That's disgusting, but what's even worse is those sort of people reproduce and hence society becomes what it is today.................

Good on your Mrs. I know it doesn't mean much but I respect what she did.

They should take the kids/dogs out and put the parents / guardians in and come back in a week . Or lock the car in a painters oven until well done or lightly browned.

No excuse.

I was standing at the counter near the front door of a shop when a woman came in in tears to her husband who was also at the counter. While in hysterics, she managed to explain to him that she had locked their baby in the car, which happened to be parked right outside the door.

I watched him wander out, peel back the soft top on the Jeep Wrangler and reach in and unlock the door!

It was pretty amusing for me but I can just imagine what it would have been like for the poor woman. It took her a while to calm down but I could see the relief on her face straight away.

We don't have kids but our cat used to hop the fence & go to sleep in a neighbour's car [windows left down], anyway.. the windows were wound up with the cat in it, next morning we heard the cat's meows, let her out, the smell was terrible.. Long story short, the cat never slept in the car again & the neighbour never left the windows down!!!

Look ... if they want to lock their kids in the car, I say let them.  They obviously have no idea because they are idiots so they deserve to be in jail being told what to do and when to do it.  Their kids would really have had nothing to inherit genetically so no great loss there.
