Good one Dougy!

My first ever 4wd trip as a kid was in an old G60. Brings back memories.

I was only looking through some old photos last week of my old FJ40 and the trips we did in it. Great memories!

Some of the worries that go with the new common rail diesels with bad fuel etc, makes me wonder if it is worth it.

Just have a read of all the little dramas they have with the 200's on lcool...... Not for me!

Can't wait for the term "old school" to be, and forgotten. It is used waaaay too much, and for every thing!
With enough horse power, sheer ignorance and a total lack of respect for your vehicle, you'll get through....

I love me old G60 Nissan/Datsun Patrol, She may not be as comfortable or as flash as most other 4x4's out there but it is always a conversation starter when ever I go somewhere in it.
I do have plans down the track to do a full rebuild on it. The chassie and running gear under the cab on this one is all 1984 MQ running gear including a standard SD33 Diesel with a four speed box. During the rebuild I intend to slot in a SD33T turbo motor, intercooler and five speed box. But first I have to sort my old girl (GQ Wagon).

It is funny how people today want the new independent suspension front ends on their modern 4x4's.
Datsun on their 720 range four wheel drives had  independent back in the 1980's, as did several other brands, and everybody sooked about it and wanted to keep the full axle front ends. So i guess that the new flash 4x4's are already OLD SCHOOL.

cheers duggie
