We actually have to access that side of the camper quite often. So the ropes are a problem.

I guess my anger problems come from being bullied as a youngster. These days I can look after myself and I have a short fuse for an old fella...lol

I think more people need to learn how to chill out a bit more.....isn't that why we go camping ??

Sure he's in the wrong, but nothing has changed, so suck it up and enjoy yourself..

If you don't like this sort of scenario, next time go free camping where you can spread out as much as you like ...

Been outback for the last 2 weeks. Just decided to stop here for a few days on the way home. Only came here for the kids.

Wow that's pretty poor. And very poor of park management, they should have offered to move you to another site.  Many years ago up at Cairns we were camped next to a guy in a tent who had his radio plugged into the power box and would play his radio all night. When we asked him to turn it off he said he couldn't go to sleep unless it was on, he didn't seem to care that we couldn't go to sleep with it on. So during the night we would unplug it from the power box :)

Another time we pulled into a site after dark and after hours by pre arrangement, we had someone so far into our site we had to back in on the most unusual angle took us ages. Other's came to help but the guy next door stayed in his caravan and he even commandeered our firepit. We complained to management, who basically said they couldn't do too much about it now everyone was in their spot but did give us a bit of a refund. Maybe you should ask for that.

Not what you want, not nice to have some sort of confrontation with your neighbour because they are doing the wrong thing. And I wonder why we all want to free camp and not stay at caravan parks :P

Hope you still have a great time in the area, lots to see there :)

Not sure if you checked the web before booking there but after reading some of the reviews they've had, seems like management need to pick there game up a bit.
Last time we stayed at a big 4 we were asked to fill out a review form,
I'd definitely be writing a review or 4.

As for old mate next door, his a grub for taking the liberty of imposing on the next site. I'd be tempted to stay an extra night then paying a reduced mount on my exiting the park the following morning.

That is pretty rude of your neighbour and extremely slack from the park manager.

I have only stayed in a caravan park once and the sites were very narrow and on arrival my neighbour had a couple of pegs a rope on my block. He immediately came over and apologised said if they are in my way he would move them.

Turns out my camper opened in such a way my ropes also went that side, so on mutual agreement I used his land and he used my land. But I would never just expect it my right to use some of my neighbours land.

If someone needed extra room for ropes or when we arrived, asked if they were in the way then I wouldn't have been so worried.

It would have been nice if I could have moved over that way a little more, after all 4m of a 6m site isn't much room for a camper and family of 5.

It just annoys me when other campers aren't considerate of others.

Make sure when you leave, you "hook up" to the tent ropes as you leave, pulling down most of his crap.

Then stick ya head out and go.... oh dear, it wouldn't have happened if you stayed on your side.

Then just continue on your trip. By the time you get to Monto, most of his stuff should have "self released" from your 4WD.

nothing a few hot ambers ontop of a big arsed tarp carnt fix, etiquette and good ol fashioned common courtesy lacks in some people, i would have told him to move once, lack of response on his part would have resulted in me bringing out the gimp

i can't believe you'd start a thread about me like this, after being away for a couple of weeks together I thought you'd let it slide....plenty of room on my site if you need some mate. If I'd known I'd upset you this much, I would have made more noise when throwing the leg over last night, just so you got more upset...lol

This thread made me laugh. I would be really pi**ed if someone did that to us but others on here are right........ sometimes you just have to suck it up and enjoy the fact you are on holiday. We recently had 2 families camping on one camp site beside us. The family with the tent arrived first and set up with a tarp over their tent, effectively leaving very little room for the second family, who arrived in a huge caravan. They ended up parked a metre from us and looking straight into our CT. They also had young kids, who thought it was time to get up at 5am. Not much you can do about what time kids wake but the parents didn't need to come out of their tent and start cooking breakfast at 5 in the morning. Must say free camping is looking more and more appealing!

Only came here for the kids.

WHAT?  You left your kids there for two whole weeks while you were outback and you are worried about the yobbo next door?   :cup:

Bet more than a few people wish they could do that.
