Strapping down CT covers

Any Swaggers aware of a requirement (in WA at least) to put ratchet-type straps on your CT to hold down the weather cover and stop it billowing up?
Some people in the industry told me yesterday they believed this was the case. If so, it's new to me.

l have a criscross of rope over mine as without it it looks like its breathing . Less drag l hpoe  :cheers:

along the same lines (didnt want to start a new thread)
doesnt anyone have a good idea on replacing the default twin d hoop straps that come with the covers. at least thats what my austrack adventurer has on it.
i was thinking something along the lines of cam buckles as the D hoops are a pain in the proverbial when wet and just annoying the rest of the time :).
tempted to get two 4 pack cam buckle straps just to pilfer the buckles as i need 6 in all.

I use octopus straps on mine. They just keep enough tension to stop it fluffing up.

Sounds like rubbish to me.
With the 100's of interstate tourists that don't have it, they would spend their days at the border fining people.

There is a rule somewhere ( I can not quote it at this time) which clearly states there is to be no lose items etc. This includes tarps which cover loads and the ropes straps etc which hold down a load.
My former days working as a mechanic in a truck yard, there was a great deal of time spent in securing the old green canvas tarps on the semi's as well as the ropes, we even had a guy who had to check it.
I believe it is fair to say that your average CT with a cover falls under this requirement, so having your cover billow up and down as your drive could be seen as a lose load cover by the transport authorities.
How it is secured is not relevant, as long as it is secured appropriately.
I fitted some webbing straps and buckles to mine which work well, cost me $50 at a canvas firm.
