What sized panel is that?  I need to get off my bum and do similar for my car...  Struggling for motivation and decent components for mounting the panel - what have you used?

Been doing pre trip maintenance myself, like running gas fridges and running 100lt trailblazer I got my solar gear out and hooked it up to my 4 x 120amp AGMs and been running the freezer, pulled out the bait for the trip north about 13kg of pillies and 18kg of squid out the 300lt home freezer and repacked it to 2 to 3kg double bags bags, then packed into the trailblazer, Been getting gear out of the 20 ft container and putting in the shed ready to pack in the boat and 4wds over the next few weeks as we head off in May, Craig

Finished up the electric winch for the camper trailer.
Since adding the new boxes it has gotten a bit heavy for swmbo and I to open and close comfortably.
The new winch system works a treat. Only need one person to open and close it now  ;D
Also getting everything ready for our first camping trip since Christmas 2016.

Started to build a an outhouse  ;D

A friend of a friend lets us access their 2000 acre property at Mt Barney for camping on a fairly regular basis. It's a fantastic spot on a beautiful clear creek on a locked access property. Over time we have been carving out a nice little area for ourselves beside a waterhole, but we have decided it's now time for a more appropriate and permanent toilet. So I've been accumulating some bits and pieces over time, and the build started yesterday afternoon. It'll be a composting toilet (long-drop) using one of those 1000l I.B.C containers buried underneath for the composting chamber. It'll have the top cut out and be buried upside down on a gravel bed so the worms can do their thing. The stink pipe has a 12v computer fan to draw the air through to encourage the bio-action and eliminate the smell from inside. An old car battery will run the fan (that draws 0.4A) and a LED light, with a small solar panel on the roof to keep it charged. The structure itself is being done as much as we can as a "flat-pack" so we can easily trailer it out and assemble on site.

Today we'll do the roof trusses and door, then sheet it with corro. Hoping to finish it today so we can take it out next week-end when we go out to mow, and have it up and running for the long week-end.

I presume that's a typo... maybe 0.4A?

Currently I’m in the middle of replacing the pajero’s rocker cover gaskets, made a lot more difficult by the fact that you need to remove the inlet manifold to do the job.
Slow and steady, it’s a little more difficult than I had imagined, but one cover is now done, the other I’m removing the old casket as I type

Just did an experiment in the kitchen, finely chopped 3 Birdseye chilli’s deliberately ensuring my left hand got a good dose of the juices and rubbed on the seeds

I then put about 1-2 teaspoons of olive oil on my hand using it to thoroughly wash my hands. (During the process I found a couple of small pieces of chilli) to absorb the chilli.
I then used soap and warm water to remove the oil.
Dried my hands and then sucked on my finger. To my surprise almost no hint of chilli, certainly no burn whatsoever
Experiment was a success

Chopped off fingers and cooked in a hot wok for 5 minutes.
