Picked up a good 2000 mdl Stihl 017 (same as MS170) last weekend for a decent price.

So today it got a full strip down, degrease, clean, epoxied a cracked oil cap, dressed the bar and sharpened the chain.

Came up a treat.

Declan and I put together 3 bays of shelves, built a wall and fitted up some cupbaords and shelves. Just need to put everything away off the floor now and I will have a workplace and somewhere for the 200 to sleep at night.

Friday is solar day with 18 panels getting fitted up. New 22000 L tank as well and hopefully a couple of remote operated doors

Serious work in a mates mancave yesterday for a full 10+ hours.
Getting my daughters first car ready for her 18th.  Surprise prezzie.

Picked up a cheap 1997 Rav4 for her and gave it the works yesterday.
-Full service
-Auto service and full fluid flush
-New radiator and hoses (radiator removal involves full bumper removal and testing the breaking point of aluminium AC pipes...
-Retensioned the cambelt and correctly attached the timing cover, engine mount and power steering.  All left halfarsed by the previous mechanic/home handy man.
-Stripped down all 5 wheels and tyres.  Sanded and painted the rims and fitted/balanced new tyres.
-Patched up a leaky headlight
-Drank beer.

Goes off to the detailer on Monday for a cut & polish and steam clean. Then its just a couple of front drive shafts, seat belt and a RWC.

Thanks guys.  She better cry!  Cause I was crying a 7pm last night while fitting tyres to rims with still tacky paint and discovering that 2 are buckled, but you still balance and fit them cause you have to get it off the hoist.  Knowing you'll be back during the week once you find a new wheel... :'(

Of course, you realize that an 18yo girl will have absolutely no idea of the time spent and effort you've made.

But we do it anyway....... ;D ;D ;D

Threw the wifes Pajero up on the hoist & replaced rear brake pads, brake fluid flush and rotated tyres. All done in about an hour and a bit. Love my hoist. Money well spent. Next weekend the Val is back on the hoist for rear wheel bearings, rear suspension bushed , new shackles & a diff oil change.
Cheers, Mike.
2015 Mitsi Pajero. Dobbo MRR Lift, ARB Bar, MM4X4 Lock Up Mate, Intervolt DC Pro DBS, 12,000lb Mako winch. Bla Bla Bla.

You're actually working on the Val suspension?
In 250k, all I had to do on ours was rear shocks once, and the odd idler arm and tie rod end.
Sold it at 350k  :'( :'( and all still RWC. They're a tough beast. :cup:

Speewa,
You are making an assumption that he hasnt run out already and all the new shed is doing is giving him room to access things that he couldnt before

Tried to find a receipt for my ozito multi tool that died on the weekend.

Found Unifilter that needs cleaning so cleaned and changed that.

Receipt still missing, I know it's somewhere safe and will probably surface a week after the warranty runs out
