I have both that drill and the impact driver. Been abusing them on and off with diy use over the past 6-7yrs with no issues other than one of my chargers stopped working but returned it to the big green shed and replaced it under warranty.

I got the drill and impact driver set for my birthday last week.
https://www.bunnings.com.au/ryobi-18v-one-2-piece-core-kit_p0059997

It got a bit of use hanging some doors at the fire shed, but on Saturday I went out to a farm and collected a stack of logs for firewood.

I quickly got sick of sawing the logs on the ground, so out came the mitre saw, the Ryobi set and I turned some old veranda joists I was donated into a log saw horse.

It turned out pretty good, considering that it cost close to $0 and only used a handful of recycled roofing screws. I did kill the mitre saw blade by finding a nail on my 3rd last cut though.

The 20+ year old hardwood is soaking up the linseed oil like a sponge

Washed & polished the work ute,
Wired in from the second battey(deep cycle) an anderson plug to charge the Makita batteries from the 12v to 18v charger.
Sometimes on job site I don't have access to 240.

We had one like that when I was a kid, to cut wood for the old wood stove. Only trouble was, it was my brother's and my job to cut the wood by hand, using a bow saw. Still got the scars on my left hand from when the saw would slip sometimes when starting the cut.
4.2L TD Toyota Troopy, (Clarke's Country Camper Trailer, softfloor.) sold it and bought a Avan Ray small poptop caravan.

With stage 4 lockdown upon us I need to drag the old mower out and see if it still runs.

It's a 30+ year old Victa with a Briggs and Stratton 4 stroke engine. I haven't used it in 10+ years as the local Jim's dude has been cutting the nature strip.

At least it will give me something to do ;D

I recently bought a couple of old Lathes. This one I am selling as the other one is an old American South Bend Lathe and I love it.

Bought this one as a part of the package.......thats a Maximat V10 believe it or not.

Spent a couple of days tidying the old girl up and she works very nice indeed. Its a shame I have to sell it, it is actually in very good condition. No broken gears, tight and machines nicely.

now you've tidied that have a go a these ?

Knocked this one out yesterday and today, present for a blokes 4yr old grandson, just on 430mm long. Rear wheels are on an articulating bogey.

I bought an old South Bend 10 Lathe and tidied it up.

It had no motor so I bought a 3phase motor and put a VFD on it. This was a great choice as it allows me to control the speed without having to mess around with belts and pulleys.

I havent 'rebuilt' it but I stripped it down, washed it, gave it a bit of original colour and put it back together again to see where it is at in regards to its condition.

I have to say it runs remarkably nice. It is smooth a quite and for the most part doesnt need a lot doing to it.

I have a full set of metric gears for it so I am converting it over to metric and the carriage in threading mode is a bit notchy in one direction which I need to investigate but besides that it is in very nice and accurate condition.
Here is another one that could do with your expert touch. It is part of the historical display in the gem fields, central QLD (Rubyvale)

Great work again.

One question, what is the bit between the fuel tanks on the underside?  Is it a drive shaft or something else?

Drive shaft thru two mounts. Based loosely on the Oshkosh trucks from the US

Over the last week or so, I have been "restoring" and old Kelso wheelbarrow that one of the wife's friends had tied up in the roof of their carport. Apparently it has been there for the best part of 15 years after they moved to town from the farm and didn't need it anymore.

Pull apart and rebuild. Surprisingly only two rusted solid bolts had to be cut out.

New tyre, strip tub and rust convert and repaint, lots of sanding and soaking coats of linseed on handles, reassemble.

Unfortunately I didn't take any pictures of it beforehand. I was going to do it in original Kelso colours, but the wife wanted it in red - because red barrows go faster!

But she wanted the stand and front struts left original. Don't ask me why! Thought the paint on them was actually in reasonably good condition.

Got to love Linseed oil, easy to apply and cheap. I use it on all the raw outdoor wood and it comes up really nice.
