Our local tool king store stocks it. It’s probably the only shop in my area (northern tas) that has proper trade items. Even nubco here is limited and over priced.
Thanks for the follow up will look into it

I bought an old South Bend 10 Lathe and tidied it up.

It had no motor so I bought a 3phase motor and put a VFD on it. This was a great choice as it allows me to control the speed without having to mess around with belts and pulleys.

I havent 'rebuilt' it but I stripped it down, washed it, gave it a bit of original colour and put it back together again to see where it is at in regards to its condition.

I have to say it runs remarkably nice. It is smooth a quite and for the most part doesnt need a lot doing to it.

I have a full set of metric gears for it so I am converting it over to metric and the carriage in threading mode is a bit notchy in one direction which I need to investigate but besides that it is in very nice and accurate condition.

Probably the most ambitious toy I have made so far, all done of photos, no plan, it’s a copy of the worlds largest Chamberlain tractor which is in Karoonda SA, it was a commission job by the son of the farmer/engineer who made it.

Great work Pottsy.
A great bit of West Australian history
Chamberlains were built in Bentley WA, next suburb over from where I grew up. A lot of my schoolmates did their apprenticeships there.

Couple of days ago the Battery light would stay on(1999 Rodeo 2.8lt T diesel), being the work ute, I changed the Alternator. 80Amp.
Also installed a deep cycle battery so I can charge my 18v makita batteries.
Even tho I have half a dozen batteries(18V), it means I can charge them when I don't have access to 240V, which happens alot.
