Well can finally reveal. This is a full scale wedge tailed eagle made from 1.2 mild steel sheet for the head & feathers. The skeleton is made up of round mild steel, and the talons are forged from reo bar. Wing span is approx 1.8 metres.

It will be mounted inside  a building at a veterans retreat near Charleville, however building has been delayed as the mill for the structural timber decided to fall to bits.

Was meant to stay under wraps until the building was ready but it was taking up to much room here at home.

Just delivered it out there & had a week camping at the retreat.

Been lots of hold ups with the building so it was decided to display the eagle until the building happens. Although it may just stay up there.

This is an open group so should be visible to those with Facebook.

Raym, absolutely brilliant, you are man of many talents. I looked at the date on your post and thought how did I miss that, went back and searched and couldn’t find it, is this the reveal?

Bloody well done.

Thanks mate, the plan is to live in it while we renovate the house, then it will be a motorcycle/farm workshop on one side and brewery/bar/mens shed on the other.

I was about to ask if there was going to be a brewery in it

I am building a man cave within my man cave. I need a dust proof area for all my radio gear and other stuff, I have sacrificed a 3m x 2.4m space and have all the walls up and done. Put in a desk today and will start fitting it out further tomorrow and hopefully start tramsferring the gear in next week.

foil boarded the west wall of the new garage in prep for lining the whole thing with 15mm ply - only have 2 more walls to go with foilboard before I get to start doing it all over again with the ply.

Squares are from the wife painting out bed head...... without a tarp. Guess I'll have to repaint garage floor now.

Discs are actually tie down points, yes 4.
Fil used them to strap his old Goldwing level when he was working on it, servicing etc

Nah Fizzie, I’m just doddering along selling by word of mouth, I should get serious and try one or two and see if it’s worthwhile, need to get motivated one of these days.

Paying tax is not the issue, I don’t want to be tied to the shed, it’s just a bit of fun, between toys, painting, grandkids, wife’s medical appts and the odd trip got enough going on. I’m sure I don’t even do enough to pay any tax anyway. Cheers

They can be a bit of fun.... ;D ;D
Clear instructions are gold.

I've put a couple in over the years. One gave me a bit of grief...random alarms.
Turns out the numbskull installer didn't quite nip up one of the terminals in a sensor... :-[

What a wonderful world it is, When a scrote likes your stuff more than you do and has a go at knocking it off .. Breaking the Curved tailgate canopy glass in the prosess .. I hate safety glass ...
Insurance puts us in touch with Windscreen O'Briens for replacement autoglass ...
As told to them, Good luck with that, the manufacturer of the canopy has probably been out of production by atleast 15 years at a  guess.
3 weeks of string along run arounds  later.... We cant help you ... No Shite Sherlock !!!  ..
One hour to make a CAD [ cardboard added design ] template,  a phone call to the local plastics guy ..$100 and a day later,  I have a 3mm sheet of Polycarbonate .. Several hours of toil,  fiddling cleaning broken glass from fittings / checking / measuring in sweat shop sauna heat / humidity of the west facing hotbox garage.
The Gapping void of the tailgate opening is now covered with a curved Polycarbonate  replacement window ..Still with a few minor adjustments to make with the latches along with a painted border and tint job ...... Just like that Willy Nelson song " Back on the road again " ...

Hi edz , One problem that I have found with using Polycarbonate as a window is the dust will cling to the surface , static electricity makes the Polycarbonate a dust magnet . In the past I have found that if you earth out the Polycarbonate window the dust will fall of , to do this I have drilled a small hole through the  Polycarbonate and buy using a small bolt attached a earth wire to the window and also to the body of the vehicle .

Thanks for that Duggie, wmight do that ..
Actualy tried putting an Electrostatic perforated tint sheet onto the inside of bloody thing today ..
For the life of me it will not stick to the polycarbonate, no matter what I do ..Reckon Id need to glue it on to get it to stick  ...
Might try and use it as a template and spray it lightly with tail light tint ...

You could have got tinted polycarbonate. I don't think it's much dearer if at all.
