Get a grip & go Bush all it costs me is Grog ,,,, that can add up a bit over the long term . The best bit is all of it is going down my throat & not sombody elses

yes that is where i was talking about, but Matt has since said he is talking elsewhere.
that is only part of the water park area, there's a kids wading pool and a bigger pool that has 2 waterslides for bigger people to use aswell  on top of that you can drop the kids off at kids club for an hour and a half twice a day if you want and then the big games room etc etc etc. yes these parks are expensive, but when you take into account what some of them offer, you can start to understand the pricing compared to other parks. we weren't there in peak period (well 1 day was) the price is expensive enough when we stayed let alone paying the full peak rate.

sometimes you just need to take a holiday that is for the kids. our last few holidays have been up through the Gulf and across The Simpson Desert, this xmas trip was just for the kids

It doesn't bother me paying the price that some of the parks charge as they are well run and good for little ones. The money it cost to run some of these parks would be big  $ paying staff and rubbish  removal is not cheap. But  being packed in a foot from the next camper is not for me.

I think you have got great value for $$. Your kids will remember your holiday for years.  Thats wat its about. The destination is only part of the story. The venue is horses for courses.  Your kids would have loved this, and saved you $$$ for not wanting to visit other attractions.

This is why we love Tellabudgera caravan park.

Nice people all round and the kids are never bored.

I love bush camping, and I prefer this, but being a public place and during the holiday season, it also attracts dick heads too, and I have a zero tolerance for dick heads.

We tend to mix up the expensive with the cheap, our kids love both.

Whether its paying $100 per night at the Blue Dolphin at Yamba or under $20 in a national park it does not matter, the kids have a ball and great memories.

Some of our friends are paying $2-3k per week for units on the Gold or Sunshine Coasts, and the kids say they are bored, go figure.

We camped with friends of my wife for the week we were down there.

This was their first time "sluming it" it in a tent as they were one of those families that use to get a room on the coast.

Their kid much prefered the slumming it as he has free access to his bike, scooter and the swimming pool. Resort style accomodation dont provide this.

We stayed at the big4 at Hastings Point a few months ago. It was expensive but it was also fantastic for the kids. Something a little different to bush and beach camping. We would definitely go again. Us adults enjoyed it too. The water park was a huge hit as was the indoor play ground.

It's the same for those coming over here. It's just so expensive so people come to Broome, have a quick look and bugger off. If they were to make it more responsible then I think the small business here would do so much better and people would stay longer. Just too greedy if you ask me.

Just got back from three nights at Big 4 Treasure Island Gold Coast.  Yes, they are a bit expensive for a CP, but we appreciated the facilities on site with our small kids.  Couple of pools, restaurant, movies, across the road from Harbour Town. Only down side was the ignorant people who apparently aren't required to follow rules or look after/ supervise their offspring. Not sure if this is normal for a CP or not.

We are at Riverwood Downs and whilst it is not the cheapest we are amazed at how well everyone (including fur kids) are behaved. Music is always turned off at curfew and the place is just wonderful.

The only issue is the allocated sites and the lack of shade for most sites.

I never remember needing all the play equipment, activity programs and facilities as kids It just didn't exist and as a result we learnt the important art of play. I guess my parents were also happy to parent It's no wonder kids now seem to need constant entertainment and parents in a quest to keep kids happy are willing to find it, pay for it and use (and sometimes abuse) it.
I look back with happy memories of 20+ years camped on the front (beach) row at Pambula Beach where we would swim, surf, fish, explore etc. Rarely used the showers let alone the trampolines and dodgy mini golf! Now there are jumping pillows, pools, activity programs, movie nights talent quests... It's basically now a childcare centre with some camping available at big $$$
I want minimal facilities and minimal fees. A beach, river, water hole, lake, mountain or bush is often all I need with a toilet and shower a bonus.
Each to their own of course but it's becoming increasingly difficult to find places that suit my minimal needs.

Oh, and I don't think Ive ever been bored in my life and simply can't understand the concept

Ahough went for a run up there yesterday and jerusalem Creek was a massive let down... or should I say not what I had pictured.

We go the other side out of Goughs Bay and have a few great spots. Have no idea of the names though as it has been drive til we see something we like and setup camp. Never had to book or pay for a site, never actually seen a ranger come to think of it

not down this way... all the great locations are stuffed to the doors usually..  Not even standing room only..
