G'day from new member in Sydney
« on: November 09, 2012, 05:07:17 AM »
Hi Everyone

I thought i should introduce myself, I joined a while ago when looking for a swag.

After a recent trip to Frazer Island and seeing the hundreds of people camped directly on the beach I decided that maybe a CT was the way to go. After going to the 4x4 and camping show at EC and spending the day in and out of campers on a very hot day. I found the new kids on the block "Skamper Kamper" seemed to be good value for money so I ordered one and hopefully it arrives before Xmas so I can give it a go in the school hols as my wife is a teacher.
I look forward to reading some good tech advise about CT's

Cheers Richard

Thanks for the warm welcome  :cup:

My regular travels are to my mates property at Wellington which has nothing there except rabbits and cattle so the CT will make longer stays much more comfortable, we go to Frazer Island a bit but have always stayed at Eurong Resort. I want to camp there but "she who must be obeyed" wants to stay at Eurong so I'm hoping the CT will be a compromise and I'll get to stay on the beach closer to the fishing LOL

This is a little accessory I picked up in Hervey Bay after leaving Frazer

rang the guy arranged to go have a look, I was impressed so I unloaded the car on his front lawn and whacked the draws in, packed the car and $500 + 15mins and I was on my way. My big decision is where to put in a drop down slide or install the fridge in the trailer.

Talked to Skamper Kamper today starting the build Thursday and should all be good by next week, giving me time to setup some lights and batteries in the CT. Looking at some low pressure stoves and bits and pieces.

Waiting sux

By the time I got home from Penrith, held up embarrassingly by the fact that my tow ball would not come off. Then when we tried taking out the H&R tongue it wouldn't budge either so a 10 pound sledge and the great blokes from Skamper Kamper getting showered with crap and sand everytime they hit it. It finally came off, then they ground the ball off and everything was good (I will buy them a beer). Anyway by the time I got home the thunder clouds were mounting so my  EVO came out in the rain and the camper went in the garage. Only time for one quick phone photo.

Hope today I can get home early today and unpack the tents and have a couple of goes at putting it up and down.

Cheers Richard
