I think they use them in the Trackabouts. They look the goods thats for sure. Luke does a great job. See you at the end of the month, the truck is due in on the 20th at your local dealer.

They are quite sexy, but the problem with all these wonderfully large kitchens is that by the time they are stowed away inside the seven by four there simply isn't any room left for other items. Nice all the same.

They are super smick.  Saw one at the Toowoomba Outdoor Expo on the weekend.  The "stainless" is a stainless laminate so should wear well.  I have a normal Drifta and I can't fault the build quality.  And Luke is great to deal with.

I have replaced several plastic boxes that used to live in the trailer with a Drifta.  All the bits that make up a kitchen still only take up the same amount of room.  Plus you have the added bonus of everything being in its place just by pulling out the one item and dropping the legs.  Sets up in next to no time compared to folding two tables out, unpacking plastic boxes etc etc.  Nice and neat and importantly easy.

Actually fitted one to a customers camper trailer last week. Looks great, heaps better than boring old plywood. But yes, the kitchen combined with the full length draw takes up the whole of the underneath of the trailer.(customers choice here). Costs a pretty penny too.

3k?

This is the DPO package deal, shown as a LHS. The kitchen fronts, and the front of the storage box and tucker box is all stainless laminate..also, we use really nice push button latches (like a caravan) on anything with black stainless, instead of the standard finger hole with catch. The stainless look and push button latches adds $200 to this setup.. so this would retail for $1590 +$200 = $1790 plus freight..

I've got a full DPOR Package Deal (non black stainless) http://www.drifta.com.au/infoDPOR.php . When i first arrived home with the New CT and Drifta Package i went through all the camp gear i own... sorted out what i now needed to take, loaded the gear into the kitchen draws/cupboards, loaded other bits and pieces into the huge pull out draw, the tucker box we use for dry food storage..... still have room left, i love the package, everything stays were you put it, no more digging through plastic containers, and best of all, no need to lift the bed base, basically the entire internal storage space of the trailer can be slid out and accessed easily........ i bloody love it!!

I have been using the same Drifta DPOR return kitchen design in my camper since 2007 and i have to admit that the misconception that they take up more room was on my mind too. But after setting it up, it actually saves a lot of space due to the way storage is allocated within the drifta. No more carrying plastic boxes and crates and such, it all jams into the drifta actually freeing up space in the camper!

Mines about to hit 6 years old and not a problem with it so far.

cheers

Yes they take up a lot of room, but you were only going to fill that with plastic tubs of all the stuff that now fits in the kitchen itself. Those small stainless kitchens with no room to store anything or less than effective IMHO, as you then need to pack all the cooking gear and food into other containers, then unpack to use them whereas this big boy has heaps of effective storage space.

Drifta also do the pull out drawer that fits in next to the kitchen, with a couple of smaller drawers on the front of it. I imagine you could get it without the smaller drawers, as Luke will custom build anything. The long drawer is effective too, and the only lose of storage space is the ~20mm either side and 50mm on the bottom that comprises the drawer itself.

The only problem I have with my drifta is the amount of time I spend showing it off to my jealous mates lol

Drifta are expanding and doing all sorts now.

If I redo or start new another van, I would bypass all the headache and frustrations and not to mention the time spent pissing around and get a drifta fit out and get out there straight away.
I'm proud of my work, and I like what I finished with, but also wish I had done many things different now.

Losing months of possible valuable cruising time, is something I'll never get back.
Why do people ask "What the hell were you thinking?"
Obviously I was thinking I was going to get away with it and not have to explain it....

No bad idea - then she'll want a whole new ct. Unless of course that works for you... in which case go for it :)
