Hi,
   Just a suggestion, as it is how I made mine, and it works well.

If you make the can/tank with a breather tube that you can blow into and send the diesel up the fuel line to the pump, it will make the first priming of the pump quicker, with out the need for several start cycles to get it working every time you break the prime.

You can get the 'Snugger' frame and tank then add a Chinga heater from Aliexpress.

I have a Trackabout Safari with the optional diesel heater, works really well you can leave it on all night. makes minimal noise, between the dogs snoring me snoring it is the quietest thing in the camper. It is an expensive option but so worth it on cold nights.
 You can see the fuel tank on the side of the box and the heater is in the tool box it also heats water for showers and the sink.

Haven't been on here for a while and noticed my thread / question that I asked about 4 years ago, then realised I hadn't posted how it ended up, so thought Id give an update how the diesel heater fitting went in my trailer and hope it is of some help to others.
I have a walk up model trailer so the switch and outlet went on the walk up wall to the bed and through a 45 degree vent
the Unit was placed on the inside storage compartment which now has been boxed in to save damage and the Inlet and Exhaust were fitted underneath the trailer with chair feet rubbers to plug when not in use.
Exhaust and intake I welded on some 45's, fuel pump was also rubber mounted
Plumbed the line into a jerry can on the draw bar which can be used for the vehicle or heater, but is always ready to go.
The Webasto heats the tent up well, is economical and nowhere near as loud as what many make out to be.
