I had looked at ours in the lounge room and just thought wonder if you got yours and got to use them. Ah yes that was my one complaint the noise but have not had them camping yet and finally our dogs seem to be using them.  Shame it was so much rain when you were wanting to get out and about.  One option that might reduce the noise when using in camper is folded polar fleece on top.  Or some ear plugs for the BF.

G,day Kit-e, i was just having a read of the canvas dog bed thread, and thought i should post. i had one made for my blue dog stubby  when he was just a pup . i had it made so it sat across the back of the ute tub and was about 600 wide plenty of room for the bugger.3-4 years down the track the job changed slightly and stubby had to stay at home. i had stubby till he was roughly 15yrs old. the new hound if i can call him that, was brought a week after. well OI (as in oi get here) is now 12yrs old , every now and then i give the mattress a quick wash  and its still going strong, OI will drag it out in the yard to catch a few rays it might get rained on , covered in crap does not matter a quick shake and its as good as new . i should have mentioned that the filling/stuffing is a piece of polyester insulation it was abouth 100mm thick and is now about 50mm thick so to cut a long story short , a good canvas bed for your pet will last quite a looooooong time cheers Graham( by the way thats OI on my avatar)

Thanks for the info Graham.  That's exactly what I wanted ... something durable, waterproof, comfy, long lasting.  Sounds like yours will outlast a dog or two more.

We'll see how long these ones last and go from there, as they were extremely cheap.  The Rotti will only use hers whilst camping, where as the other two will use them every night and weekend.  The CattleX is addicted to swimming, so being able to keep it clean is a top priority, as they go inside the camper at night.  I'm still very keen for a proper canvas one though.
