Is it just me or does ugly become nice/ desirable  the more you look at them.

My opinion the newer shapes in cars grow on you over time. When Toyota released the 80 series I didn't like them, to curvy and soft looking was my opinion, same with the 100 series. Now I really like both shapes, same goes with most of the utes, the Ssangyong somehow I don't ever think that will ever grow on me.  ;D ;D ;D

The FJ cruiser I have liked from the first time I saw one, I don't think I'd own one (except for the wife), but I do like them ( coming from a bloke who drove a 3 door Suzuki Cino with pink and purple stripes and frangipani seat covers for 6 months, Cheap car and used almost no fuel).

Johnno, just found this posting and it came as a shock. Good luck with your choice. If you want to drive our Prado with your camper on the back as a comparison let us know. I know it won't come close to your 62 but we find it goes well.

I have had my 1991 HDJ80 since 2000 done me well and don't plan to get rid of it.. It will be pulling our CT for many years to come and will be turning 300,000kms old this trip in a couple weeks to Fraser Island what a nice place to celebrate her coming of age.....

Personally I have heard from a few 100 and 200 series Owners wishing they had never parted company from their Old 80 series, as I said I am not planning on doing that....
But hey I have never been in either and don't want to be either as I may just be tempted :)

Have a look at the 105, suits our needs with now three kids. We had 60's series too, whilst I will always have a spot for them time to move forward. Our 2000 105 had the 1HZ and the previous owners had put a Denco turbo on. Definitely helped it, however we started to have problems with it. Anyway long story short it now has the 1Hdfte that I pulled out of a wreck, and had to also rebuild. However it least it's all good now, best of both worlds, but less than the price of an independent one. It's the manual version, however if the 5spd auto was avail, I would have been happy with it to.

Sorry to here the news. Shame I have already purchased a 4by to replace my old one or I would have been in like Flyn.

All the best with the sale if you do go that way.

Being a 105 series driver with everything on it, the 1HZ is a slug!!! If you were to purchase one you will want to put another V8 diesel in it!!
The pick is definately the HDJ100s with the factory turbo motor and IFS, but if you are a one eyed live front end supporter, you could look for a nice late model 80 series around 1986/87 with the 1 HDT? motor.

Mate I'm in total shock :'(
They seem to be giving fourbys a good going over in se Qld at the moment. I know a few people who have gotten defects and 4 weeks to,fix and show.
You are more than welcome to take my ute for a run, it's not a 6.5 but it still goes pretty good. Would give you a idea of pulling power if you were interested in a 76 wagon.
Best of luck with your decision.

OK, .............won't be picking it up until next weekend but here it is,

04 100 series IFS Landcruiser,  :cup:
4.7 V8 petrol, I love my V8's  ;D
5 speed auto, ........one owner ( lady )
194000km on the clock
Is a country car so all miles are open road driving.

Has towbar, tinted windows, new rims and new tyres, new exhaust.

Because it's a country car she needs a good detail inside and out but I'm pretty good at cleaning things so she'll come up like a new pin.

Have already spoken to my mate re the suspension  ;D , another mate re sliders   ;D and have a TJM polished/winch compatable bar on it's way.
Will need a snorkel, duel battery set up, Anderson plug wiring ( lets not start on the wire size  ;D ), and fit my winch and spotties etc.

I love it when a plan comes together

Thanks guys, .......it should turn out OK me thinks, started to unbolt the bullbar tonight to remove the winch.......3 barked fingers later and I've still got 8 bolts to go  >:( . Will fit a new UHF and aerial as I'm leaving the old one in the 62.

Mark, ...........I'm winch bitch this year  :-*  so I'll be riding shotgun with my little mate Mick, he has all the preparation work under control  :cup: so I don't have to rush any of the mods.

Very nice John. I'm sure it won't take you long to bring it up to your high standards if the old 62 was anything to go by. I look forward to seeing it one day ( sooner rather than later).
