Yep joining the crew at Cowley beach... By the way there was an article in the Cairns Post about Cowley Beach.. Apparently some idiots are driving very close to the turtle nests that are down there   >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:(. Looking forward to getting some pics (on foot of course) of the nests etc.

Grrr!!! >:D
Must be the atv riders that they are talking about.
They banned everyone else from driving on the beach last year.
We will see you folks some time Thursday...

Yep, took Friday off for a long weekend camping at Hervey Bay. Still want to go but the weather is making it look near impossible. Might as well go to work and get paid for getting wet. Will just have to wait for Sandy Creek.

Bagara Beach, sitting in the rain.

Can't wait..  >:(

Unless someone up Bunday way can convince me that it's not too bad up there and the weekend is looking better, then I think we're going to pull the pin. Just too wet in the forecast, and it's not tipped to stop by the weekend. Losing accomm deposit $$, but saving on fuel costs driving there and back just to get a wet arse.

Man I'm disappointed.

My parents in law live in Hervey Bay and it didnt rain at all yesterday and have had little rain in comparison to the rest of SE.

For me, rain just adds to the adventure. Plan for rain and generally, all is good.....

Bad days camping is better than a good day at work. Get the cards out and sit down with the kids and teach them how to play eucha or similar.

Definitely agree. We're equipped for wet weather, but with a 2.5 y.o. and a a 4 mnth old at the moment a wet long weekend will be testing the limits..

Deciding tonight, going in morning.

Deciding tonight, going in morning.

Well, we went, and it has been fun. Fun can be interpreted in different ways to different people. Here's our view of it.. We had the perfect drive up here army on Aus Day morning, and setup in misty showery rain at the Bargara Beach CVP. Overlooking to the beachfront and water, we enjoyed the Hottest 100 countdown drinking beers and chasing the kids around. Had a rainstorm that night which dampened things, but all was good. So that was fun.

Friday we woke to mixed weather though still quite pleasant, with passing showers, and the threat of more. More indeed! Friday night we were booked in for the mon repos turtle tour, but at 3pm the rain started, and got heavier and didnt stop until 3am. I still took miss 2 year old around to try and see turtles, but in torrential rain all the could find was one baby loggerhead left behind in a clutch from he previous night. Still amazing to see despite the rain and blasting wind. A local told us this morning we had 200+mm. Very likely. Not so fun, but all dry in the Lifestyle CT and annex room.

Woke this morning to overcast but cool weather, and no rain so far. My mate who came with us had a tent & tarp. He packed up and left this morning. He didn't have fun.

We're still having fun. Heading home in the morning.
