Newbie from NSW
« on: December 27, 2011, 05:59:26 PM »
Hi all, the family has finally purchased its first camper trailer. We will take our first camping trip to Yamba in two weeks, going to cheat and camp at a park and hope to get lots of great ideas from seasoned campers there and on here too about the must haves and must visits for this family of five in the fold up hilton! Please share any expertise you have on what we should add to our trailer over the coming years any advise will be greatly appreciated :)
Just the five of us on this adventure together!

Welcome mate,

You will certainly get a wealth of knowledge here! Yamba is not cheating but you will get a good idea how your CT goes...at the moment we have windy conditions followed by hot sun & the occasional shower/storm/rain - blame it on "La Ninya".

Enjoy the ride.

Thanks for the warm welcome.....
We are located in the New England area of NSW, just mover up from SW-VIC, to be closer to family and hopefully to start living a bit more!
Yamba will be our first camping trip with the whole family, dad and two boys have camped out under the stars in swags many times, but mum and girl 3yrs require a little more comfort!
we set the trailer up in full on christmas eve and had it up for a few days, it was easy to set up, but the pole numbering system was a little off, so it took longer than I'm sure it should have, hopefully we will be better at it when we get to Yamba.
The trailer was perchased from a factory direct mob in QLD, it was an ex-display mod, so I feel like we got a sweet deal, has an 18x15 tent, plus a mesh annex and a tail gate kitchen with sink and water tank.
I promise to post some pics of it all set up in Yamba and on our future adventures.
looking forward to seeing what other people are doing to make their campers into a home away from home.
One thing I would like to know, am thinking of putting electric brakes on, have the set up in the explorer, what is the general consensis....is it advised?
cheers
