New tent wanted :)
« on: October 31, 2011, 07:50:47 PM »
 ;D

I'm looking to buy a new tent
Looking for basic ground coverage area about 2.5 x 2.5mtrs for the bed room area ( 2 or 3 person size & about 2 mt high )
with an extra front 'removable' anex, with 'removable' sides and front, for the cooking/eating area, to take it to 2.5 x 5 mt or thereabouts.

I think having 2 x sections should be useful, just the sleeping section for the quick night stop, and then for the longer stay add the front living/cooking/eating area also.

I've seen the "Campmore Bowe" canvas tent on the net, but am wondering if anyone has one, or knows of them first hand

We just picked up a Southern Cross tent which sounds like it would meet your requirements so that may be another option for you to look at.  The one we got is probably 10 yo but in excellent condition and only $300.

I bought my camper trailer from Southern Cross Campers in Melbourne in 1995, and was using it constantly till 2010, so yes the quality will be there for sure.

I've seen those tent you have referenced the link to, my personal opinion is they are the best tents in the world ( some may differ on my opinion), but they are top quality, I don't own one, I have an Oztent, but I've seen these tents in action and they are more bullet proof than Superman.

Yes you might have to pay a little more, but I would see this tent as a life time investment, probably outlasting me if I purchased one.

I don't think you could find a better tent on the market and certainly like your choice in tent.

I have a Jet tent made by oztent. It is fantastic, quick to put up and very versatile with the awning/annex.

Mainey

We've had the safari bow extension for 11 years(and probably another 11) know made by Serengeti(campmor).
It's spent 30 plus weeks during the years at Ocean beach, Umina on sunnyside site 1(cop all the elements) during xmas holidays
It's faced everything, and last xmas people still ask is it new.
It's by far the best you can get.
We swear by it .
Just hope the complete campsite gets as much use.

Mike.
