Maccoupler
« on: May 29, 2011, 06:57:09 PM »
Today i used a maccoupler for the first time. Followed the instructions and it worked fine. I think it only fills the canister about 3/4 of new but its still heaps cheaper than using new ones each time.

Did you need to sit a course to use it?

I've had one for a few years and used it a couple of times without any dramas.
Instructions are pretty clear.
Mine only filled to about 3/4's as well.

Whack the little bottle in the freezer for a couple of hours ,you should nearly fill it.

Does it have a purge valve to keep the pressure down?
I got a sweater for Xmas, really wanted a moaner or screamer.

Darren. There great aye. I've had one for years now and love the thing..

Guys, to get it full put the canisters in the fridge for 40 mins or so or in the esky. I guarantee you it will fill it up as good as new, if not even more. They also do not work so good when the 4 or 9kg is about a third full. But really try cooling the canister.

Is that a bottle from a Coleman Hot water system in the photo. If not will it fill one.
Could be next on the shopping list.

Reminds me that I need to swap the empty 9kg bottle from the BBQ before inviting people over again...

Thanks!

Just order mine through Amazon for $14US. I ordered some other stuff at the same time so not sure how much freight would be.
Don't think they are illegal. Think you will find that it is turning the gas bottle upside down that is illegal.

I reckon if they were legal you would be able to buy them here, never found anywhere here where you can buy them.

Back in the day you could get disposable refrigerant bombs for non mainstream refrigerants.
We could re-use these the same way by decanting into a cold bottle. Until the rupture disc started to stretch, then it's a throw away. >:D

If they were legal they would be horrendously overpriced.
