Airbags Leaking
« on: April 07, 2020, 07:28:53 AM »
I have airbags in my 2005 GU Patrol Wagon and have had a for quite a number of years.

On have developed a small hole, about the dive of a three inch nail head.

My question is, can these airbags be patched or do I need to replace.

Thanks in advance

Can they be patched, I'm not sure!!!
Should they be patched? Personally I wouldn't.
Not worth the risk being loaded up and the patch letting go at 100km/h.

Would only do it as a tempory get me home fix , As BB says not worth the risk .
To hold  you over till you get it replaced ..   Ive read that Some Lanrover guys have used a motorbike tubeless tire plug repair  to get them out of trouble ... It might work, but would be taking it easy , for how long though  ??? ..

Thanks gents. I though the same but decided to ask the question.

I will replace, but might patch and keep as a spare as the hole is minor and could come in hand while in bush.

Cheers and have a nice isolating day
