Just reading about this impressive 4 seater motorcar developed by Cristian Koenigsegg whom has no formal training in the field of manufacturing and design of automobiles. The bloke is a friggen wizard. The car has a 3 cylinder engine pumping out 600hp combined with 3 electric motors bring the total to 1700hp and 3500nm of torque. He reckons it's good for 300kph and a range of 1000km.
The engine uses a electronically actuated valve setup, so no camshaft, and therefor can set each valve separately for duration and timing.
It has twin turbos where one turbo is feed by one exhaust valve per cylinder and the other turbo is feed by the other exhaust valve so effectively the second turbo comes in at a higher rev.
And guess what people? He's giving them away for a mere $1.9m.

Back in the early '80s Lancia developed a twin turboed 1.8L engine for the last of their Group B Rally cars which drove the turbos in the same way.
One exhaust valve per cylinder per turbo. An exhaust manifold on each side of head, with inlet manifold directly above the head. Called the Triflux.

It was a development of their turboed, supercharged 1.8L engine used previously.

Would of been a casting nightmare.

Did it work? Supposedly put out 1000hp in qualifying trim (not bad for nearly 40 years ago from only 1.8 litres, and pre common electronic engine management).

But didn't get put into use. Group B was pulled before it hit the road.
