Don't put it off 'till it's too late
« on: June 10, 2019, 06:46:16 PM »
Hello all, new member here. Thanks to the admin for letting me join.

My name is Bob, and first a little bit about me.

I am 54yo, single no kids, living in Western Sydney.

I do not own a camper trailer, well, not yet anyway.   ;D

After mentioning that I was interested a friend suggested this forum, and after looking around it a little I can see it was a good idea.

I love my hunting, 4wding and generally enjoying the bush and the great outdoors, wish I went fishing more often.

Well, after a recent wet weekend with not much more than a swag, I have decided that having somewhere dry that I can at least stand up in seems like an appealing prospect. I have used tents in the past, as well as tarp type set ups and I can say that I am over the experience of using them with the hassles and the setting up problems.

Financially I am not in a bad place, so nothing to hold me back there.

I have had a quick look at caravans, and they don't really sing out to me, not my style.

All of that, coupled with thoughts of "don't put things off until it is too late", brought me to the inevitable decision that a camper trailer will be the way to go.

Looking around I see many different offerings, in many different configurations out there. Mind blowing really.

I think though, that what I will end up with will be a hard floor forward fold style camper.

I am not sure which one yet, but that decision will come soon I think.

So, when it happens I will share my journey from purchase through to modifications (if needed), through any problems and faults with it to sharing some of the trips I take in it. I will most likely be asking questions to those of you with experience because it is never too late to learn.

Thanks for reading my long winded intro post, hope you didn't get too bored with it and move on.

Cheers,
Bob

Welcome, One piece of advise that is often given out on here and I think is wise, is to hire before you buy. The way everyone camps is different so I think it's a good idea to check and see if what you are thinking actually works well for you. Camplify.com.au is a good place to look to Hire.

Welcome Bob, the FF hard floors are certainly popular & quality can cost $$'s BUT the beauty of them is that if you have enough room to park it, you can sleep in it!

Good Luck

Thanks for the welcomes.

Well, I went out today and bought a brand new Ezytrail Sterling GT MkII today.

I hope it is as good as it looks.
