Question to owners of dual cab utes - tub liners

Have just bought a second hand BT50, pick it up in a couple of weeks.
It has a canopy and tub liner and I want to put in a drawer system.
 The liner seems to take up a bit of internal space and may make it difficult to secure a drawer system.
Am I better of to take the tub out, give me a bit more room and make it easier to fit the the drawers, then when time comes to sell it I can put the liner back and make it look pretty again.
Not sure of the advantages of having the liner in there if the whole floor space is covered in drawers.

My Collie came with a tub liner, so when I put the drawers in they simply went over the top of the liner.
Drawers are screwed down straight through the liner, no issues.

As i only have 1 drawer and the bikes go on the other side i just put it straight on top of the liner and drilled through

Same with our BT50. Drawers on top of bed liner and screwed in.
We didn't have a canopy only the soft cover. My only concern was if we ever removed the drawers then there would be holes in the liner.

Hi Hewy [again]... with model changes etc, re-fitting your drawers into another model/vehicle will be difficult. I removed mine from our Courier & ended up selling them back to the buyer because they wouldn't fit the new BT50.

I hose my Ute and drawers off. Holes in liners trap moisture and usually cause more trouble than they are worth. I’d be ditching it.

I've had my tub sprayed with Speedliner... Tough as nails, and no risk of rusting

I had a canopy and tub liner for a few years. Then I got supercentre drawers and had the same question.
In the end I drilled straight through the liner for the following reasons

• It doesn’t take up much space in the grand scheme of things.
• If I take out the drawers to sell a bit of silicone in the 4 holes will hide it.
• I drilled into the top of the ridges re moisture.
• Where was I going to store the liner in the meantime.
• I couldn’t be stuffed trying to get the liner out.
• At the time I put the drawers in Supercentre didn’t have wing kits and making my own was near the bottom of the ever growing to do list. So the liner looked good on the arches.
• I now have their wing kits so had to move the drawers a bit and drill 2 more holes to fill
• I don’t know how long I will keep the ute, still will for at least another few years.
• I may just sell it with the drawers for the "can’t be stuffed taking them out" reason, and how cheap they are.

Mate has a ranger with tub liner.  He made his drawers so that they slide on the liner - works a treat so far.

My Ranger came with a canopy and tub liner and as I was transferring my drawer system from my Bravo to the Ranger decided to remove the liner and maybe get a few bucks for it on Gumtree.
Couldn't even get an offer for the liner and accessories so I cut it up and took it to the tip. Seems they have no resale in the Regional areas and as stated earlier takes up a lot of room to store it.
The drawer was almost a direct fit from the Bravo to the Ranger with minimal mods without the liner so the decision was easy.

I have a Ranger with tub liner and canopy. I made my drawers to the size I wanted. I fixed them in with brackets made using the 3 tie down points that exist in the tub on each side. Made them from steel 30mm x 30mm angle, 20mm and 25mm steel tube. Some use turn buckles to fix in drawers. I didn't like the angles if I was to use them. These drawers are fixed solid. And if I take the drawers out you never would know that they were there, no holes in the tub. As for extra space lost, I think it is minimal. I actually have more space in the Ranger drawers than I do in the Landcruiser drawers which have served me well for many years.
