I had a spare day and wanted to do some light 4wdriving close to brisbane. So we decided to go to the Condemine river.
It was an overcast day but mostly fine. Once we drove through Boonah, we took Milford road and drove some nice gravel roads until we came back to the Boonah - Rathdowney Road. Heading back towards Boonah for about 10 klms, we then turned onto the Carneys Cree road (Falls route) The first 15klmsish are bitumen, but then becomes a nicely graded gravel road
We climbed the mountain to over 1000m’s in kooreelah national park
to Carr’s lookout
We were way up into the clouds, so unfortunately no views
But had a great lunch at spring Creek mountain cafe.
From there we went down into the gorge where we proceeded to cross the condemine river 14 times
We continued along the loop, stopping at Teviot falls(better halfhas just informed me it’s dags falls) on the way back
This was just below the cloud line so made a great photo opportunity.
All in all a great afternoon out
