The Patriot Camper Owners Forum has been shut down
« on: July 27, 2016, 10:47:21 PM »
As much I love My Swag and all the info and great people that grace it's pages I also enjoyed the Patriot Camper Owners Forum. It was a shame it was deleted and shutdown. The bloke that was running it was doing a great (thankless) job and I as many others learnt a lot from the creative minds of fellow Patriot Owners.
I'm so glad My Swag is still going and I would just like to say thank you to the Moderators of this great forum.
Cheers

I would be interested to know why I am a Patriot owner and it was a great way to keep up with everything about the Patriot.

Since it was down ive been googling everything to find out why it went down.  Even now it doesnt come up, the link works though.
Can anyone confirm if its an independent forum the last one had an 'overseeing' by patriot. Im seriously looking at getting one so i enjoyed the last forum to nut out the ins and out of the trailer.

Server fees??

Takes a lot of time to run a business forum, with moderation keeping away spammers, shonks, etc They would be better off using their time for building and designing.

The newer forum which was running after the original one has also been down for the last month or so. Does anyone know why or if its coming back.
Reason being,  i liked how someone mounted there log splitter on the inside of the front box and wanted to explore doing it on my new kk.

Sorry dont know what happened to the newer forum, but,
I think it is time that and independent forum is created for patriot owners that is not run by patriot themselves. This is the second time that our valuable information has be lost or removed without for-warning. I'm an IT guy and would be happy to set up a forum but would need help in administrating.

Cheers

It says it's in maintenance mode. A lot of complaints were surfacing so I wonder what's really going on...

That'd be great. I wonder also if Facebook is a good idea for this. Totally independent and won't get shutdown. So I created a new page - Patriot Campers Owners on Facebook. Come join and hopefully we can, over time replace the info that was lost...twice

I too loved the info on that page. Just wish I printed a few of the ideas out - in this day and age I don't really think of companies shutting down their pages. Every good manufacturer has one so they an be across issues.

If anyone wants to contact me please le t me know and we'll get it started. I see MicknSam around Alderley a fair bit but there's always traffic behind me so I've never stopped and said g'day.

Hi,
I'm now the owner of a second Patriot Camper. I think the forum was shut down to prevent complaints and negative feedback, such as some I gave just before the shutdown.

I would love an independent site where we can discuss the pros and cons of Patriot Campers.

Put the URL into www.archive.org and see what it pulls up - unless they went to the effort of removing it from the web archive, then it's all likely to still be there...

Also a great one to show kids so they understand that whatever they put up online will always be there...

Hopefully that wasn't the reason. I spoke with service about a different matter but asked about the site, he said they were trying to upgrade it but corrupted it and can't get it back...given even basic IT processes involve taking a snapshot of the current state before doing stuff it should still be there for them to restore. If they took it down because of complaints, they shouldn't have, every company worth their weight in this industry has a forum specific to their brand so they are aware of issues or things people would like to see in upcoming models.

As I said, I've created a facebook page...there's no info in it though because all the good info was in that forum and I (probably stupidly) didn't download/save even the stuff I wanted to do over time.

How convenient that it got corrupted. I think long term a facebook group is not the best place as stuff gets lost in the feed quickly and the search is crap. But I'll join and hopefully we can get back to discussing tips ans possible a more permanent forum.
Cheers
