I think part of it depends on who & where you camp?

I've just spent most of 4 days camping & some of the cars there had their doors left wide open for the entire time, so obviously no security concerns there! :D

They weren't all brown and rusty, missing interior and surrounded by molten plastic and rubber were they?

Mind you, I was camping with a very high-class, exclusive group of people :D
our group of mates that camp together usually have their cars wide open and I'll often have my keys in the ignition at camp, we do tend to camp away from others so security isn't an issue there...completely different story when I park it at a car park to go for a walk though.

All depends where you are and who's around, the place where we go most of the time car is unlocked with keys in it, over easter weekend was around a lot of other people so car was locked at night

Have been to van parks, Nat parks, paid campgrounds, free campgrounds and bush camping and in over 200 camping trips haven't had the need to do anything else but normal common sense. Keep any valuables locked away and out of site. Anything else is just plain bad luck and does happen, but not as often as is being portrayed !!
