Hi GG. As LB said, Good on you for talking about your problems
Nowhere as dramatic, but I had a work accident just on 3 years ago, that left me with a permanent (even if reasonably minor) impairment, that has meant the finish of my working life, as well as stopping my Volunteer Rescue role.
After that, I was suffering from a lot of stress. Got referred to a Counsellor, so went along or the first session, frankly not expecting much. I was wrong! She just talked & let me talk, have a sob, then talk more, but those several sessions made an amazing difference, just by getting stuff out, & her advice of how to get around things & so on.
If you haven't already seen one, please ask your GP for a referral, go along & have a talk.
Hope it helps
Good luck
