Caravan/CT Plumbing
« on: January 11, 2017, 09:20:54 PM »
I have a question for everyone. Why hasnt the makers of caravans and camper trailers have a bay setup like this in them. And before everyone says no room,etc... I am talking about the black plumbing block in the top left hand corner.

The system allows for you to turn off the affected area instead of the whole system if there is a leak. Eg inside shower leaking on cold tap. so you can turn that one off but still run water to outside shower, sink etc..

The reason I ask is cause most caravans/CTs have multiple outlets for water, and if you're camping somewhere and have a faulty washer you dont want to turn off the whole system if you could help it. Well at least I dont think so.
Interested to hear what everyone thinks

Thanks

Maybe because
1 they don't want to make it to difficult for the Chinese to copy
2 they build vans to a price
3 you end up with multiple pipes that are potentially exposed to damage
4 because that is a European van and the manifold is not available/ compatable to plumbing systems used here,

I struggle to work out why you need 5 hot water outlets and 6 cold water outlets that the example shows. Must have his and her toilet and showers.

Its off a yankee motorhome (Newmar). I was only wondering because there are multiple water outlets these days why they havent put a stop tap in the line incase you get a leak instead of having to turn off the whole system at the pump.

Nailed it.

Van and camper manufactures will build you what ever you want if your willing to pay for it.
