No Fair
« on: November 14, 2016, 02:05:39 PM »
So sitting in the wives clothing store on the South West Hwy in WA watching the world go by, and the amount of campers going past.... swags, roof top tents, trailers loaded with all the gear and camper trailers is incredible. It's great to see so many people getting out there and enjoying exploring the countryside.

Wife looks at me -- "well why aren't we out there too? So not fair!
I'm at week 18 of recovery for a broken leg (kids motorbike) yes being a clown, so now I cop it even more about not being able to get the camper out.  :cup:
So I've been sent home to get the mods done - fitting up a tent pole holder to the front behind the tool box bargain of good old gum tree. Mount up 12v water pump, check valves, fold down tap on the sink and re-hose the lot to make it better than it currently is.

Oh and better check the beer is cold in the shed fridge. ;D

Mate I live in the mountains and come every holidays I see squillions of campers and vans heading west. I just convince myself they are all just going to get serviced somewhere ?

Yeah it was Gronk. Took 4 &1/2 hr operation to put it back together think there is more metal in there now than bone. End of the day it could have been a lot worse so I'm just working on building it back up and getting back out there amongst it.

At the moment I work at a small school near a major dam in the South Burnett. Every Thursday and Friday it is so hard driving home from work and I pass camper, boat, camper, boat etc! So cruel.
Monday morning without fail I am off to work and here they come driving home again.
:-(
Trying to find the time to use our camper . . .

Said happy travels to an old mate thats off till   ???  sometime in the new year to all points northwest  from the NSW border to Darwin

September 3 years ago, mate headed off on a "12 month" lap heading North from the GC.

The following August, he sent us a postcard from Broome, saying that he should be home by Easter.

Around Easter, they left the van parked in Perth & flew home for a couple of weeks for a family occasion, then flew back to pick the van up & "head straight home".

Actually made it home late-July, complaining that they'd had to miss stuff due to the speed they were travelling  ::)

Must be pretty vicious head-winds you encounter over that side of Oz!  :D

Heading off again shortly, this time going South to catch those bits they missed out on.

See you in another 18 months or so I guess  ???  :D
