Question for Evakool users

Hi guys looking at buying a Evakool fridge from Evakool themselves now they have an option called "*Optional Cover " but i have no idea what that means comes with a two year warranty

This is the unit I am looking at its a new model they are importing but with the same compressor they use on their Aussie made models http://www.evakool.com/fridges/evakool-glacier-fridge-freezers/g80

That's a fridge cover.

I would suggest that is for the insulated travel cover. However there is no way to give you a definitive answer without asking evakool.

The unit is a 80 litre compressor based fridge / freezer with thick insulation and digital temperature control.

We've got a large evakool in our Trackabout. It works better than the waeco we have in the 4by. Very happy with ours. Feel a bit sad however.........we didn't get optional cover, unless you're talking about our CT tent. That pretty much covers it all:-)

Hi Scarps emailed them today back and forth and they were quick to get back to me, I would have liked to go for one of the Aussie built models but the $$$ didn't stretch that far and this looks to be a bargain with the 10% off.

We got an 80 litre when BCF were selling them. Works a treat and got the optional cover  . Then got the baskets for inside when they were on clearance.

I picked up a 60l a while back. Great fridge. Gets over 3 days on my 120ah battery. Just watch the power socket. The spade connectors worked loose on the inside of the 12v  power socket. Then this year I pulled the 12v plug out and the pins came with it. I ended up hard wiring an anderson connector and 12v lead into the fridge.

Just watch with the baskets as on rough roads a full basket can push the walls of the fridge out. Just put a strip of something like dowel under the basket so it's weight is supported.

That's a good idea cause mine did exactly the same.

Thanks guys for the tips good to hear aynthing else I should be aware of, was looking at a Primus unit at anaconda yesterday looks the same bit chuffed with myself at what I paid for Evakool unit now :-).

consumption of multiple cold beverages from out of the evakool can give you superhero status:-)

Warning- this status can often conflict with Swmbo's perception and result in conflict......

Does anyone here have an Evakool Glacier fridge?

I've read all the comments with other types of Evakool fridges, but haven't seen anything for this specific model.

$609 seems a bit steep for a 30L. You can get the 60L Evakoolsl's at Supercheap for under $700 when they're on sale.

Yeah, that was just a generic link to the product. I was looking at their factory seconds, not that they are that much cheaper though.

I only had a ~315mm width to work with and that was the only fridge I found that would fit. It's just going to be a backup for the main fridge in the trailer. But I think we're going to try running a small esky for now and see if we really need it to be a fridge.

I had 2 small 20L eskys in a draw in the back of my old car, they where perfect for us. But I sold the car with the whole setup included (the draw was built around the eskys and they stopped making that exact type, other brands didn't fit in the space. The guy that bought the car loved the setup and paid me extra to leave it all in there).
