As I said, quality isn't what it used to be. Everything now built to a price. Google dishwashers......they all have their issues....hopefully only under warranty.
my brother fixed washing machines and dishwashers for a living, so I asked him what to get when we bought ours.....he pretty much said what you just wrote, all the brands have issues. Old machines were built with metal cogs that are now plastic, simple rials now replaced with computer boards etc etc...he told me just to buy a cheap one, which we did and haven't had any major issues with it to date. The front plastic handle / fascia panel started to split on it after about 4 years, my brother replaced it and all is still going fine currently.
