How on earth did sharks become the new dolphin?
« on: October 07, 2016, 08:07:29 PM »
Dunno but it's a bloody good question. Perhaps because they're slightly less evil looking than crocodiles and they're not green?

There's no Great Evil conspiracy against consumers within engineering, manufacturing and supply. Just the many tradeoffs incurred to satisfy diverse tastes, priorities and wallets. But first comes all the insatiable Gummint eggsperts, nanny-staters and usual suspects.

Good points made in this article - if not somewhat facetious.  I for one am ok with culling (not mass destruction people).

There - I said it !

There's more people than there has ever been before enjoying water sports.  I can't even tell you whether the statistics show that the number of shark attacks are increasing, but my guess if they are it isn't because the shark numbers have dramatically increased, but more likely because more people are out on the ocean putting themselves at risk.

It's interesting people talk about saving human lives, so kill the sharks, but there's roughly 90 times more people dying from drowning than there is from shark attacks annually.  Ironically if people just stayed out of the water we'd save a few people from shark attacks whilst saving a few hundred from drowning....

2 people died from shark attacks last year. 2. Again, 2. One of those was an ab diver who provoked the attack. The sharks had a great year last year because the yearly average since the 1950's for the whole of the country is 0.9. Tell me how many humans enter the water each day again?

Over 1200 died on the roads but compulsory defensive driving isn't tabled.

Why do guys keep getting 'tasted' at lighthouse beach? Right on the river mouth where the mullet run - fark yeh kill the sharks.

we are amazing as humans, we kill more of each other each day than sharks or any other wild animal ever will yet we seem to fear animals more than own kind..

id feel privileged to be eaten by shark rather than run over by an ice addict who was texting while high..

not that I wanna punch out my ticket just saying if i had to choose.

Can you imagine a world of beaches  filled with dead wales that the sharks didn't eat .   ???
Arrr Come on they are Top Predators in the sea  , or the sand would be covered  with fat fish farting seals . Oh yes they date back a few Million years before us on earth  , so don't get too uppity about it .
