I'm a newby
« on: July 31, 2016, 10:42:47 PM »
G'day everyone I've just join myswag and trying to work out how to use it so be patient with me ! So far in my camping career I've been a 3 hour putting up a tent kind a guy while trying not to kill the kids at the same time ! I'm sure most of you have been there ! That's what all the grey nomads tell me anyway ! I've joined this site mainly because I'm now looking at getting a forward fold caper trailer and would love some input from experienced campers like yourselves. So far I've read lots of horror stories about dealings with unsavoury camper trailer sellers ! Scares me off a bit but I have seen some that look to have good reviews eg Bluewater campers , Broadwater and modcon. I'm looking at spending around 20k for a forward fold camper and I have 2 kids and I live in gods country Darwin NT and wish to explore further afield to place like the Gibb river road and Coburg etc and would love some feedback and suggestions . Cheers Robbo

Welcome Robbo,

You have found the right site to get info, with a lot of very experienced people willing to share.

I don't own one, but I have heard a lot of good things about Campsite TL8s as a family camper. I know new they are double your budget, but I thought you might get one second hand at closer to the target.

All the best with whatever you choose.

Forward folds are ok if you're going to in one place for more than a few days............if you're on the move daily...........forget it.
Life on the track is a lot more fun when you don't have to spend a few hours setting in the arvo and a few hours packing up in the morn every day for weeks.
Get a hard floor rear fold, one where the bed area is deep enough to keep all the bedding on when pack up. Same goes for a roof top tent for the kids.................You should be able to purchase a decent Pioneer, Aussie swag, etc hard floor rear fold and a decent roof top tent for under $20K.
