Painting Lattice - Spray Gun?

In a couple of weeks I'll pulling the old railings off our front veranda, and replacing them with lattice - our 16mth old grandson has learnt to open the screen door lol, and I don't want him finding out he can fit under the railing(s) and wander to the road.
I really REALLY don't want to hand paint it all, so can an normal spray gun be used?

Yep only way to paint it. Just mix your paint a little thinner.

I used one of the old CIG beaver style low pressure guns to do my screens and fibro fence.

No real knowledge of spray guns except to grab one - fill it up - spray, but have minuscule memory of something about spray guns for house painting being different from eg: car painting....thought I'd better use the brains trust instead of a wading through pages n pages of big technical words  ;)

If you have a compressor, Bunnings is your friend.

$20 spray gun, Walpamur fence paint (water based, quite a few colours available), 100 ml of water mixed into the gun pot with the paint to thin it down, and spray away.

It took me no time at all to paint all my fences and easy to clean the gun in water (or chuck it if you you can't be bothered cleaning)

Thanks Johno, knew they sold them spray paint outfits, and knew only the expensive one's were worth getting if getting one, but didn't know they sold actual spray guns....and cheap for just what I want   :cheers:

Paint it before you put it up would be my tip. That way you don't have to worry about the spray going everywhere

Yep and you can stack them so the ones underneath get the through spray but just a tip when spray painting acrylic paint. Only do it when there's no wind as I know a couple of unpleasant stories with nearby cars in windy conditions and you don't want to upset your neighbours.
