Tanami Track/Road
« on: August 08, 2012, 09:54:36 PM »
Hi I am new to the forum. Has anyone done the Tanami lately? I only read. Hell Road..Don't do it etc..
I have a reasonably sturdy off road camper & a Series 80 diesel Cruiser..What is the track like at this time of year?

Did the Tanami about 5 weeks ago. A fairly easy dirt road with some corrugated sections and some soft dust patches. Some of the corrugations are rough but not the worst in the country.  With your setup, you should do it easy.

Keep in mind rabbit flat roadhouse is not open anymore so you will need to ensure you have sufficient fuel between the remaining stops.

Make sure you stop at Wolfe creek.

Good luck

Darcy
