Watched the highlights from Thursday...how's the hail storm they had to ride through...lol
Was watching the race last night, and the one thing I love about the coverage is the buildings they show in the towns the tour goes through. That building last night which apparently is the largest brick building in the world was a prime example of what I'm talking about.
Seen a few more spectators baring their arses again last night also, was funny as a once off the day previous, but I hope it doesn't become the in thing for spectators to do...I love seeing how much the locals get behind the race, some of the displays they make up for 5 seconds viewing on the telly at most, is an impressive effort

Finally Quintana managed to get a break on Froome, I doubt he'll be able to claw back the time he needs tomorrow to make it interesting with just the one day left, but atleast we got to see Froome struggle abit instead of just cruising along for the win.
Love watching these stages through the Alps, that 3klm section of zig zag road late yesterday for example is an amazing bit oh engineering. The views are amazing, and somewhere I'd love to drive one day.

I haven't caught up last night yet, did the sky boys take it easy so that they have plenty in the tank to look after Froome tonight ??

the Sky boys seemed to just drop off once the attacks started, not sure if they were saving themselves or more like they just couldn't keep up. Hopefully they are done for and Froome and Quintana make a real race of it tonight, would be good to see Quintana make a break early and have Froome try and chase him down. Can't see it happening though, Froome seems to have had everyone covered in the race up until now, but last night saw the first chink in his armour and the previous day he said he was struggling at the end, so who knows what tonight will bring.

Well i stayed up last night to watch the last real stage of the TDF...was a good effort by Quintana to try and steal the win i thought, but as i expected, Froome's lead was just to big to claw back in one day. The majority of the Sky boys dropped off the pack pretty quickly whenever a decent attack was launched, but Richie Porte managed to drag Froome up that last 13klm climb most of the way which certainly helped him. Would have been good if Froome's lead was only half what it was leading into the last mountain climb, as good as watching last night was, i reckon that would have made the viewing better.
Love the speeds they were reaching on the downhill sections last night, nearly 90 kph on some sections

we had some of my wifes friends over for a bbq yesterday arvo / lastnight, they all left around 11.00 p.m which was perfect timing for me to then sit down and watch the last hour and a half of the race  Quintana tried a few times earlier on to make a break but was unsuccessful, Porte dragged Froome up behind him several times to close the gap when the break attempts were made. Quintana would have needed the climb to go another 5 - 10 klms atleast to be any real chance of getting back that extra minute and a bit he needed to get. Froome ended up leaving Porte behind for the last few klms, i reckon Froome was just doing what he had to do to make sure Quintana didn't get 2 minutes infront of him, and seemed to have enough left in the tank to cover the time differance. That's why i reckon half his amount of lead before the days race would have made it more interesting, Froome would have had to try and stay a lot closer to Quintana then what he actually did today if that was the case. Good watching none the less, those guys are machines when it comes to climbing those mountains

Quintana is only 24yrs so I have faith that he will get a win overall at Le Tour. 

I have a vid on my bike page of the decent from Fridays zigzag up the side of the mountain and it is insane. 28klms of decent with no margin for error.
