That sux mate I hope you find it with all the gear still in.

My work had a trailer knocked off from the yard overnight early this week. Bastards cut a hole in the fence and hooked it up and towed it away. Dodgy part of Melbourne....

This is one of the lowest forms of theft as it has taken away a persons ability to do his work and earn his living.
If these scum are caught I'm sure there would be certain tools in that trailer that could be used to remove certain body parts that would ensure they could never do it again.  >:(

Happening way too often nowadays.  Apparently your tools will end up in an auction run by dodgy types where even lower humans buy them. Bit of a racket that needs to be stopped. If they closed the pawn shops that would help too

I agree Bird they get smacked with a soggy shoe lace for punishment and I suppose planning their next crime from the dock.  Bring back the biff I say that was the best part of their punishment.

I hope you had insurance mate.
Cheers Terry.

it's been happening since Adam was a boy...been a tradie over 20 years now, and have several mates that have lost either their trailer full of tools or vehicle and trailer together. Sadly it's not new, and I myself don't think it's any worse now then it used to be...probably likely hear more about it now though with social media.

A couple of years ago one of mates who is a carpenter had his ute/work trailer park in his driveway and one night he caught some kids from a neighbouring suburb trying to steal it. He knew that if he called the police these kids would just cause further problems for them, so he got them to call their parents a 1am and to come and collect them. (Luckily the parents had half a brain)

He made it very clear to both the kids and parents that stealing someone’s car is one thing, but these kids tried stealing all his tools which is his lively hood and that is unforgivable. So he told them to spread the word that if he ever catches them or any of their mates around his house or tools ever again, then will use his nail gun on them and then use his array to tools making some alterations to their family home.

Rest of the suburb had ongoing problems, but he ever had a problem after that.

Hope you get your trailer and tools back.

Feel sorry for you mate I would be blowing my gasket if some grub stole all my tools and trailer hope it doesn't cost you too much in the end and the grubs get what they deserve. On a side note I noticed recently crime converters has moved to selling all there stuff online is that to stop people who got their gear pinched walking in and noticing it on the shelves?

When I was a young 20 year old I caught a guy actually in the drivers seat of my torana trying to hotwire it! I didn't call the cops & I'm pretty confident he never tried to steal another thing again

So how do you prove that your $40,000 of QUALITY tools were in there?
For poor example I know a mate who is BMW Master tech has some 1 off BM tools that were expensive (all manufacturers have their special tools...).. are you supposed to take photos of the trailer and contents daily?

Whats to say the insurance company says GAGF it was empty heres $4000 for a new trailer... suppose ACA to the rescue eh...
