Just bought an opus
« on: March 14, 2015, 07:44:51 AM »
I feel like we have come full circle some what!. Had a tent, then a wind up Coromal Silhouette, full blown 2.5t ensuite van and finally just purchased an Opus camper. Have always liked the extra living space you get with the idea of the beds folding out. Saw the Opus and just had to have one! Our new house block is pretty steep so the camper idea seems the way to go.

Had a sleep out last night. Set up the camper and I must say the annex was a real challenge. Didn't end up in divorce court but came close. I really feel it will probably take half the time to set up in future. Had some wind and the camper stood up really well.

Love looking through Aussie forums like this and salivating at the thought of getting out among the gun trees again!!

Life is too short, off to play with the Opus some more  ;D take care people

Russ.

Gday Russ and welcome,

It would be great if you could post some pics on the Opus.  They look like an interesting concept and keep us up top date on how it travels and any mods........everybody loves mods

Came across them at the Melb caravan and camping grow.
Looked like a good concept but the tent was a nylon, and not breathable.  Was very stuffy as it was a hot day and not much provision for ventilation.  The annex was more the same with curved bows as apposed to straight and square.

The kitchen was differ.  The bottom of the bench was fixed and the top half were like boxes that lifted down and sat in the walkway, giving the low travel height. Another manufacturer used the tent on a traditional camper trailer and wasn't as good.

The centre are with the baskets were just 2 boards that fit between. The baskets look cute but I didn't think there were too practical.
