Over night in Gloucester (NSW)
« on: February 25, 2015, 07:46:10 PM »
Anyone stayed in Gloucester (NSW) over night and could recommend a nice camp spot to stay? Going down on Friday to get the new Drifta draws fitted and staying for the night before we come home on Saturday.

If any swaggers have anything there as well and would like to PM me so I can pick it up and get it to Brissy and beyond, let me know. More than happy to help out.

I will say that I am getting my draws fitted, so camp fires and small stuff no issues... not CT kitchens or draw systems.
Cheers

Strvy

The caravan park in town is really nice they let you have a fire as well. And close enough to walk the one of the local pubs.

30mins/30kms out of Gloucester is a free community run campsite - Bretti Reserve.  Flat, huge free camp sites and on the banks of a river, suitable for caravans.  Has two pit toilets.  Its on thunderbolts way if you are doing the inland route. Its in wikicamps.

I grew up there, so is my old stomping ground.....
Agree, the caravan park there is really nice, spacious and very convenient, given that purpose of your visit is to Drifta (and that won't be a quick visit there!!- Luke has a lot to see there). On the edge of the town sporting park complex- really pretty and probably one of the best in NSW.
Another option is just beyond Barrington, just over the bridge (heading away from Gloucester- about 6km out of town), and on the right, on the banks of the Barrington River (Barrington Reserve)- not big, but enough for an overnight stay.

When I had my drawers fitted they gave me one of the company vehicles and a voucher for a drink/food at one of the restaurants in town for the few hours they had the vehicle so you'll be able to wander around and check things out in town.  If you have kids the park in town is nice enough for a few hours whilst you wait.

Fluids - he probably did mine last year then.
