Lakes Entrance Area
« on: November 01, 2014, 02:59:57 PM »
Hey guys!

This worked so well for the Snowy's that I'm going to try again!

So the plan to get back to Melb's for the boat is to go via the Snowy's down to Lakes Entrance area and spend a few nights prior to getting on the boat.

Again, bush camping and close to a beach would be preferred.  It will be mid week but I'll book when we hit Jindabyne in a couple of nights.

Any suggestions would be fantastic!  Thanks!

Try Lake tryes, a little out of Lakes it's self though.

The only camp site in Lake Tyers Forest Park that has toilets is the one down Pettmans Rd,
beach is at the end of Pettman Rd, which runs off Lake Tyers Rd. Great spot for surf fishing.

Glasshouse camping area is nice, heaps of room and close to the lake.

If a river rather than beach is acceptable try the Mitchell River National Park just north of Bairnsdale.  Haven't been for a few years now but some good memories, great river with white water - just pack the lilo's.
