I considered the AS when buying my KK. I would also consider the Complete Campsite Hard floor too.

We really like the KK kitchen as you can have someone washing up at end and someone else doing something on the side will the little one is at the lower table that slides from underneath. The other thing I really like is the extended tent which increases the useable space in the inside floor area considerably. As for shower ensuites, the best thing is the pop up $80 shower tent that you can put next to controls or wherever is convenient. You then don't have to care about it being packed up or stored wet etc.

I don't think you can go wrong with any of the above, it just comes down to preference.

We bought a second hand AS from 2007 and it is amazing that, really, not a lot has been changed in terms of layout. It just proves that AS just keeps on improving on a winning design. We looked at the KK and AS and decided for the AS, mainly because of the swing out kitchen. If you have the full annex up, it creates a more natural walking area from the annex to the door and it would have become a hindrance if it did not swing to the side. We also thought that the KK had some minor annoyances and finishing issues for us, but that could be personal preferences and nit-picking. Also, we did not find even a single negative comment on the AS - all comments were just positive!

In the end, we could not fault the AS in any way, and are very happy with our second hand one. A great product and absolute quality that lasts!

I love the swing away kitchen. If any of you guys who have  an AS & have it out, if you could provide some details & pictures of how its built & works (kitchen that is) I would love to rebuild the kitchen in my ecomate.
