Lifestyle Extenda
« on: October 09, 2014, 01:56:49 PM »
Hi fellow campers!
We have just arranged to buy a second hand lifestyle extenda (2011) model. Will be inspecting and picking up on Saturday. Any tips on what to look for when checking out second hand trailers and tents would be greatly appreciated. Have done my research and this looks like a good model. The photos look great and it looks like it has been very well cared for, just wondering if this model is prone to any issues?
Excited, can't wait to join the camp trailer crew (have been long time campers but just going a for a bit more comfort and ease of setup). Have seen the new version and looks great.
Cheers.

Welcome! Can't really give you any tips, but we have the same model extenda and love it (using it at the moment).  It is a  great camper, easy to set up - hubby can do it on his own, which is really easy for me.

You have many years of fun-filled camping ahead of you. Enjoy!

Make sure the bits that open and close do so properly.  Ie, any hatches appear to seal well enough, zippers work well.  Make sure you put the tent up and have a look for any tears etc.  you are likely to see rub marks if it has been used, so don't stress about those unless excessive.  Lift the mattress and check there is no damage on the wooden bed base. Putting it up also checks that all spreaders etc are fine. Give it a sniff for mould.

Check the tub and draw bar for signs of dent repairs.  If it has been used, any paint will not look like new, so if it has been repainted see if you can find out why.

Start planning your first trip away in it.  Enjoy!

pack it down and check how the weather cover goes on, make sure there is no splitting of the zippers. A new cover will cost around $500 to replace.
