Hi from Tamworth
« on: March 18, 2014, 09:57:16 AM »
Hi all, Just like to say hi and introduce ourselves. My name is Scott and my wife is Stephanie. We own a 2012 SR5 Hilux which is kitted out for touring. We currently have an ARB Series III Rooftop tent with annex and awning but we are looking at an MDC Tbox camper in the next month. Just wondering if anyone out there has a Tbox and could share any good or bad experiences with them. I look forward to learning from you all and assisting when I can. Cheers Scott & Steph

Welcome Scott and Steph from Tamworth, great to have you on board Myswag.
Lot's of info on here re MDC if you type it into the search function, I'm sure you'll lose a day or two scrolling through.  There's lot's of good and maybe not so available, but you need to weight up your budget and what you want to use it for.
Happy researching and happy camping.

Welcome to MySwag Scott and Stephanie.  There are a few Swaggers with the Tbox.  We have MDC on the forum as a member.  Might pay to send hi a PM and ask for a discount.  Good luck

G'Day Scott and Steph and welcome to the forum. I am not that far away from you but have only recently migrated from Qld and no bugger all about the region so don't be shy about sharing good spots.

Not trying to change your view but for what its worth I was looking at a new MDC trailer initially when the urge struck me to get into camping but after reading the overwhelming comments on this forum about the benefits of a quality 2nd hand I changed my opinion and that's what I did.

Either way have fun looking.

Thanks everyone for the welcome messages. Some nice spots around Tamworth are Chaffey Dam out near Nundle, has honesty box system and has all amenities so is quite family friendly. Lake Keepit is also a good one towards Gunnedah, cant remember prices but not expensive, has amenities on one side of the lake and also a little shop. As we are along the Great Dividing Range you do not have to go far to find some nice bush camping as well.

We are going to the Rosehill 4wd and Camping Expo next month so will have eyes wide open in relation to camper trailers but we will be purchasing something. Cant wait lol.

Hi takani1,

We will have 17 of our finest camper trailers on display at the NSW Supershow in about 2 weeks. It would be great if given the opportunity to show you through our range.

Happy Camping ;)

Welcome aboard, lived in Tamworth from 84-87 mainly in Calala. Some nice spots around there, we mainly camped up on the river above Manilla.

Hi all, in the process of adding 12V and 240 V power to our Tbox as we speak..... ;D

Will have pics soon as we are adding a Ctek 250s Dual, a projecta 4amp mains charger, 600w projecta inverter, Baintech Fuse block plus some points around the trailer.

We have also purchased a Country Comfort gas hot water system and will be trying all of this out on the long weekend at Gloucester
