v8 petrol/gas auto 150000 klm sounds like a gt falcon, goes like a mk1 cortina

You'll get used to the go pedal travel as the long travel is designed for off road use for ease of foot control.
A 97 with 150k is a good buy. Our '97 T/Diesel has 340,000 with nothing more spent than regular servicing, normal wear & tear, Bilstein shocks, King springs, front bar & added transmission cooler on the auto. Landies do have their foibles but just treat them as "Bonding Sessions"
